I may be mistaken on this... but dont think I am: With the exception of National channels (NBC/VS/CBC/TSN)... ALL play-by-play and color commentators are employed and paid by the team for which they are announcing. i.e. Ken and Mick are employed by the DRW. Jim Fox is employed by the Kings... Brian Hayward is employed by the Ducks, Remenda and Hahn are employed by the Sharks... AND NOT FSN. This may explain why they are (ALL, in my opinion) Homers. They may be told by their bosses not to bad mouth the teams! I am a huge DRW fan... but you cant tell me with a straight face that Ken adn Mick are not constantly rooting for the Wings. I have CI and hear all the announcers at some point of the season. Some of my favs are: Ken & Mick, Bob Miller (LA Kings), Cole & Neale (CBC), Strader and Pang (Phoenix). I love Chico from NJD... too funny sometimes! I used to like JD, but he found a better gig. Some of my least liked: Brian Gayward (ANA), Weber and Crisp (NSH), The St. Louis Guys, EdZo, Gord Miller & Pierre McGuire (TSN). Dave from Ontario (California)

The LA Kings have this kid, Patrick O'Sullivan, who I think plays Redwings Hockey and would be a great addition. Plays top 6 5-on-5, PP, PK, the whole shebang. He is RFA this summer, and the Kings are notoriously cheap with younger players. I think an offer sheet for this kid would help the Wings in a huge way... espeically if Fil leaves. More so then signing an aging Sundin.

We can joke, and we can laugh... as long as WE all have as much confidence as we hope our team has. The Jerry thing was perfect... I wasnt offended at all, I love the dead. I have an idea, and I hope you will all join in and see if it has a POSITIVE effect! How about we all try something different. Instead of seeing the worst of it (we are injured, not playing at top level, should have traded for _____ etc.) why dont we all will ourselves to think positive about the upcoming playoffs. ALL of your thoughts about what is happeneing, and about to happen MUST remain positive. I am here in Southern California, the weather is tremendous, and I have a sunny outlook on how things are going to turn out. I am a firm believer in the 'group mind' being super strong... if everyone is panicing/naysaying it could somehow rub off on the team and they can feel the (OK, here comes more California hippy-dippy for you...) bad vibes. So instead, lets be proud. Lets be encouraging. and Lets KNOW that the cup is ours. Lets make it happen on some kind of cosmic-mojo level! We ARE winning this friggen cup, its that simple. STAY POSITIVE, dont doubt what you know... which is, again, that we are WINNING the cup this year. If we all think it, and mean it, it will happen. Lets. Do. This. Dave from Ontario
