The Official "Pierre McGuire's a Jerk" Thread.
awingsincebirth replied to rick zombo's topic in General
Has anyone else noticed that when they do the segments with Pierre and Dutchyshen standing away from the rest of them, it looks like they are split seconds away from making out? You could cut the sexual tension with a butter knife. -

This actually made me laugh out loud. -
Roloson maybe??? Possibly??? I don't think they could possibly go with Price this year
-
Why would Montreal trade Huet??? Are they actually making Price the man for the playoffs....
-
Breaking news from Gord Miller: "This just in....I have no chin."
-
hahahahahah
-
Well, you heard it from Pierre McGuire. Howard will not be a good enough goaltender for Detroit. I guess we should start shopping him. /sarcasm
-
What the hell is Buffalo doing?? Who do they expect to get with all of this money that they are refusing to pay their own players. Last year they wouldn't give Briere or Drury what they wanted, now Campbell....they have to pay someone.
-
So true. Cambell is a good player, but I think that this team still has even bigger problems that just Brian Campbell can't fix.
-
Cambpell to San Jose (pending)

TO send Belak to Panthers for 5th round pick in 08. This is just Fletcher trying to do SOMETHING. However, its gonna suck to have Belak leave this market, as the guy is a HOOOOT!

TSN is really staring to piss me off: First you've got Ferguson......every chance he gets to speak all he does is try to defend and justify one or more of the TERRIBLE contracts he signed. Kubina is not worth 5 million. He isn't worth 3 million. ******* admit it. JFJ was a terrible GM, that's that. McCabe is that exact same way. Second you've got Pierre......all he does is talk out of his ass. He actually hinted at the fact that, because Luongo was from Florida, and then he got traded and is a realy good playoff player, that Jokinen will also be a good player in the playoffs. That logic makes no sense. Then, as soon as you say De..- Pierre jumps in and says "Detroit has no chance, etc etc etc". He actually said that the Rangers have a beeter chance at the Cup than we do. Also, Pierre is a very ugly man. Edit: And yet I will continue to watch it in bitterness, as that's just what I do.

Ya, this is all true. I guess I just see them as having a lineup that could fizzle out pretty easily. They don't have a scorer there right now that makes you say "You know this guy is going to show up every night." I mean, there is Kovalev, and we all know what this guy entails. Koivu, I love the guy, but he's never been a top notch scorer. Higgins is young and might have some trouble dealing with the playoff pressure. Plus, with Hossa, we all know that he has terrible playoff numbers, not saying that tis will contiue. Like I said, I might just be talking out of my ass, but this is my gut feeling. They could get knocked out in the first round and everyone might end up saying, "There big boys just didn't show up, and against Crosby and Malkin, you can't do that."

Salvador for Janssen. THIS IS WHAT TRADE DEADLINE DAY IS ALL ABOUT BABY! Hey, at least its something.

No dude, I do follow the East, and I have seen plenty of Montreal games this year. I realize where they are positioned. That was more of a personal opinion of mine, and what I'm really starting to realize is that my opinion is only slightly less valid then any of these other TSN "experts" (Pierre is a doooosh". But think about it, if Montreal can't catch Ottawa (which is possible, but I don't expect them to) then there is a very good chance of a very good first round series between Habs v Pens. Honestly, I think the Pens win and the Habs get snuffed out first round. I just don't see this team as a threat. I could be wrong, and I will eat crow, hell, I'll eat a live crow. But that's just my opinion.

Hey my man, I didn't say I was going to be reasonable about it. However, cummon, Philly got Prospal for Picard and a conditional 2nd or 3rd. Prospal is a top 6 guy. If that is what it takes to get a top 6 guy, then we have enough to get one. I honestly think that Holland is thinking more out of the box then any of us are expecting, but I could be entirely wrong.
-
Now, I'm pretty sure that Hossa is going to go to Montreal, at least all the signs are pointing that way. However, nobody has really brought up this point: Hossa has made it clear that he wants to go to a team that is a consistent Stanley Cup contender. Well, Montreal missed the playoffs, and in recent history, I can't really ever thinking of them being a legitimate contender. They weren't really supposed to do anything this year either, and I really don't consider them to be much of a threat, with or without Hossa this year. However, I assume that Hossa doesn't really have control over the team he is traded to, only the team that he signs an extension with. On TSN, they seem to think that he will be a rental for Montreal or Ottawa (who I don't think are interested at all). Whatever. Also, for the post I read earlier, I would like to have Staios on our team as well. And I rememver reading that Holland was at a Edmonton game last week, so who knows. But who will the forward be?? I have no idea. But if Holland doesn't trade for a top 6 forward, I will be PISSED.

He ran into the boards awkwardly against the Avs last night and re-damaged his leg. He'll be out for the rest of the season. Aaaaand Brian Burke catches another break. With the Oilers already minus Souray, Horcoff, Torres, and now Moreau for the rest of the year, that 1st round pick that he stumbled upon is just looking better and better. Some guys get all the luck! Sucks about Moreau though, I really like the way he plays and he's a guy that I'd really like to have on our team.

Here here man. If they are gonna beat us in the playoffs, they're gonna need their whole squad. And when we beat them, I don't want to hear any Ducks fans bitching "O Pronger was missing......blah blah blah.......Intermission BJs.....blah blah blah.......frisky post-game showers.....blah blah blah" None of that s***. Also, if he's gonna get hurt, I want it to be one of our guys who does it. Preferably Sammy blasts a "Cleary" right into his face, takes him out for the rest of the playoffs. Then hopefully Sammy gets taken out a short time later, and we could kill two birds with one stone. Maybe they'll run away together to Barbados.

That's a really good point. He would have had to be traded by, what, 3:00 this afternoon?? Which, if I'm not mistaken, was right about the same time Sundin told the Leafs he wasn't waiving. So, the two should not affect one another. If this case, in hindsight, this may not have been the best time management by Waddell, no? If he has made a deal today, pushing it back right to the last minute, and Hossa and the team aren't able to reach an agreement, then the Thrashers will lose Hossa for nothing. They traded Hossa for Heatley straight up, remember. That would be kind of a big deal. Edit: CanadianWings, do you think that Waddell would just throw out the 48 hour resigning period??? I mean, I don't know, he was under no obligation. But it is possible that he has been traded already.
-
If Sundin truly refused to waive it for the reasons that he gave, that he doesn't want to win a cup as a rental and that you should be there for the whole season, than cummon! It sure as f*** isn't his responsibility to compromise his beliefs to clean up the mess that JFJ created. He tries his ass off night in and night out, that's enough, that's his JOB. Sure, the Leafs fans have every right to boo every night, but not Sundin. They have a right to boo the ownership and everyone involved in creating this massive trainwreck that they call an organization. If Sundin is greeted to a chorus of boos at the ACC, that will say a lot about the class of the fans.
-
I think it is more of an issue of Sundin being loyal to a team that was never able to put a good enough team around him. And in the last few years, that have surrounded him with downright s***. Sundin gave him all he ever had, and they never gave him enough to work with. For that reason, he has no obligation to be loyal to them. With that said, tonnes of respect for the decisions that he made. He truly is a throwback. He has strong beliefs and he is willing to stick to them until the end. Not a lot of guys in the league who would still do something like that.
-
Agreed. I have no problem unloading Flip for Hossa. He might be the only available player that I would trade Flip for, but I'd do it easy. I like the idea of having a big bruisr for the back end, either that or a guy with a cannon, because it would be nice to have a decent shot from the point on the 2nd PP. I'm pumped about Ericksson when he develops, because he's got a real blast from the point.
-
What I don't get is that when you watch Wings away games and stuffs, the commentators for the other teams do not seem to think that Sammy is half as bad as we all know him to be. Won't they often refer to his decent size, and call him things like a "sniper", or even I think one time, a "good goal scorer" (something like that). The fact of the matter is that he is looked at different by outside entities, which leads me to believe that he MIGHT have a LITTTTTTLE bit of trade value, however undeserving it may be. I hope to God that Kenny recognizes this and ships him out somewhere before Tuesday. I would just throw him in to any package he makes, advertise him as a big body who can play defense and has a decent shot (probably not true) and a small contract. ..... Maybe I'd embelish him a bit, too, and say that he does an incomparable magic act under the auspice of Sammy the Stupendous during intermissions to keep the team light, fresh, and entertained. Who wouldn't want a little mid-game magic?!

Alright people. Let's enjoy having a few days without a game. I know I will. Peace easy.
