Ballin, thanks buddy.

Maybe it WAS Ken Holland! Edit: Hey CanadianWings, how do you change that little blurb that you can write underneathe your avatars. (Like where yours says "Trade Me")??

I don't know man, I guess I'm just not sure where you are getting this uncertainty from. Yes, we have injuries. These players will all be back well in time for the playoffs, except for Cleary, who will also be back in time. Are you saying that it is uncertain because they might get injured again? Because as I said before, any player from any team can get injured, and many of them have had injuries in their past. One time injuries are not a reason to look past a team. Or are you uncertain because you think that, even healthy, this team is not a solid contender? Because then I just respectfully disagree. I just really don't see where the uncertainty comes from, and if you could explain it to me, I would probably see better where you are coming from.

Here here brother. :beerbuddy:

Actually, yes. He had a huge Flava Flav gold chain hangin of his neck with a platinum mould of Hossa's face with the words "Detroit BOund" on it. It really was a bold wardrobe risk, and I don't really think it worked out.
-
To me that is kind of a weak argument, because there is every reason to believe that all of these players will be back at full capacity. None of their injuries were really that serious as to make you think that it will effect them long term. Any play on any team can get injured at any time, and it just so happened that we had a bunch of players get injured at the same time. Any team could still miss the playoffs, and Sundin knows that whatever team he goes to, it is possible that they will become injury decimated, that's just a risk that you take. All he will do is compare all teams and the lineups that, at this time, they intend to ice for the playoffs. If that is the case, Detroit is right at the top of that list. Besides, I really don't think we'll makea serious play for Sundin, and I don't really think he is going anywhere anyways.

Well, I kind of think that a player in the NHL would look at the bigger picture when he decides what team to go to. We ARE still the best team in the league. We DO still have a solid goalie tandem, the best defensemen, and another top 5 defensemen in the league, two of the most dynamic offensive players in the league, and when this team is healthy it is very good. I realize that all of these aspects have been put to the test of late, but I think we are still a fairly appealing target location.

Nice! ahahaha

Man, that new rule that they implemented at the beginning of the season is really gonna f*** us over...you know, the one where ONLY the month of February matters, and nothing else at all. This team will not win the Cup, because obviously this is the lineup that we will ice for the rest of the year, and the playoffs. No one will come back from injury, no one will come in at the deadline. Because of this ridiculous stretch, we are f***ed.... /sarcasm

Uhh, Heresy, we all know gods cannot cry. Right now I imagine him to be cruising around his mansion on one of those man powered throne things like Xerxes uses in the movie 300. He is also wearing a crown and drinking wine from an actual goblet. When he has to piss, he actually has the dudes kneel down so he can use them as stairs. I know for a fact that this is the type of lifestyle that Nick is accustomed to.

Yeah, I'm startin to really like Franzen, he's one of the few guys who seems to be really trying to make things happen out there. I really hope that Kenny makes sure to keep him around for the playoffs, because he'll be a pretty valuable 3rd liner I think. With that said, are there seriously people here who still would do anything to keep Hudler? As far as I can tell, he doesn't have, at least right now, any of the crucial skills necessary for a little man to have success in the NHL. I'm not saying that he never will, but I just can't see him turning into a real impact player. And Filpulla, I still see pretty big things for him, but I would have zero problem sending him packing for Hossa, who's still a young fella himself.

I'm really starting to miss the days where the only thing that got people pissed on these boards were the discussions as to who was better, Hasek or Ozzy. It'll be like that again in a month, I guarantee it.
-
Howard is being HUNG OUT TO DRY. This kid has made some real big saves. I think that this kid may end up being...... wait for it........... a Top Notch Goalie©
-
I don't know man. Your the only guy on this board that I know who swears. The rest of us try to excercise a little somethng called RESTRAINT. I kid, of course.
-
Thank you man. This is f***in ridiculous. This is as badly a bruised up lineup has ever been iced in years. Did you not expect there to be trouble? Come one. Everyone needs to calm down. Obviously things are bad now, but this honestly won't hurt us in the long run. Hell, maybe we lose the Presidents Trophy. O f***! But whenever we win that we always win the cup too. We all need to excercise a little patience and just be realistic, maybe look at the bright side. We've got a real solid goalie for the future, and Erickson is looking impressive too.
-
Wow, I just got online and I was not expecting people to be this pissed off. I mean, sure the PP has been terrrible, but seriously what do you expect?? Samuellson has been his usual self, and lebda has been terrible. I'm really startin to like Meech, Erickson, and Howard. I pop one whenever I see Erickson winding up for a blast, we need a guy with a blast come playoff time. Drake and Downey are having real solid games. What blows me away is Zetterberg. I realize that he is untouchable on these boards, but he has been anaemic during this losing streak, other than the Colarado game. I know he's been still getting points, but he is just not playing nearly as good as he has to be. That was a brilliant play by Homer on the first goal. He knew that the Canf***s were clogging up the slot and the crease and disrespecting the point so he threw it right back from the side of the net and Bam! I like that alot.

Really dude?? Cleary is a playoff player. As good as he is during the season, this guy is made for the playoffs. He is a tireless worker who can play in all sorts of situations, and I wouldn't want to get rid of him for the world. I'd much rather get rid of Flip + some more than Cleary + a 2nd!

Lidstrom likely to return sooner, not later

This isn't like a "I knew it" kind of thing, but who else totally saw this coming?? Nick is a god who walks and skates among mere mortals, so why wouldn't he be able to heal from an injury considerable faster than he was supposed to. He's like the hot chick from Heroes, without the breasts......the exquisite breasts. -
Uhhhh, everyone here who is Facebook literate knows that we already traded Flip and Hudler for Hossa on Wednesday night....get with it, guys! Although, I must say that I have a special place in my heart for the 50 page thread that was made on this very topic mid-week. May this thread blossom and flower just like it brother did.

Gill could easily be that big body with some toughness that we need on the blue line. I tend to hate everyone on the Leafs, but this guy has managed to be a solid plus player on some crappy Leafs teams in the last few years. To put it simply, Sundin on this team would be monstrous, rental or not. I mean, I hate the prospect of a rental, but this guy will give us everything that we need/want and more. He is that good. Personally, I wouldn't be all that upset if we got rid of Huds. I just don't see this guy putting up solid, consistent numbers at any time with this team. We also have to look at the strong possibility that Anaheim will want Sundin as well. There may be a certain degree of needing him so that Anaheim can't have him. I think if Kenny could swing this with getting rid of Hudler, a prospect that's not Kindl/Erickson, and a high draft pick, he should go for it! Seeing Sundin in a Wings jersey would make me lose my mind!

True. But from the quote, it sounds like Kenny is saying that if he could land a Hossa, who is clearly beyond a mid-level player, than he would. There are of course other stipulations that might prevent this deal from going through.
-
Maaaaybe thats because he decided that he and his lady friend just couldn't hold together a long term relationship, him living in ATL and all.... I'm grasping, aren't I. (I still don't think its over. There is still the possibility that a deal has been reached in principle and Holly and Hoss are negotiating right now, and Flip is obviously still with the team as the deal could still fall through....I'm holding on to this for as long as I possibly can!)
-
I agree. You've gotta think that they're gonna be able to form some new chemistry without him. Then, when he comes back, he'll just add a huge new dimension to what is, hopefully, a stronger team. Take it easy, Nickolai
-
I'm more inclined to think that it is his real Facebook page (I mean, cummon, who would do all of those things for a player that is really not known at all outside of his team's fanbase, and probably some Fins) and he was just playing some kind of practical, inside joke that got totally out of hand.
