Dog, NICE SIG my man! Me and my roommates this year took a vote...it was actually quite a complex voting process....for the best South Park episode of all time, and 'Miss Teacher Bangs a Boy' won, just beating out 'Manbearpig'. I love it. Go with Christ, bra.

Anyone else here keeping an eye on the Suns-Spurs series?? I love the Suns and wanna see Nash get a ring before he retires, but the Spurs are a crazy good playoff team.

Ya, I assume he was hoping for the same response that he got in game 3. Doesn't look like that's gonna happen though. No matter....Keenan's an ass-clown.

That got outta hand fast....I mean, that escalated quickly! Sooo, Forsberg, how you doin'?

It's Cujo time....let's see if it works this time. I'd say it won't.

:rotflmao: ut Haha, ya I caught it. I do the exact same thing all the time. I like to compare emotions (ie happy) to animated objects (ie piss), and when your speaking in the spur of the moment, some really ridic phrases come out. Happens to the best of us my man! :beerbuddy:

Ya, it was legit. THe only problem I had was with the no-call on the trip on Kapanen which was immensely more blatant. I mean, if they call that, it could have ended the same way or it could have been complete different. I found it very odd that they swallowed their whistle on that one and not on the Poti one, I kind of figured that they were just declaring Marshall Law out there so that they would make a mistake that could cost a team the series. O well.

Damn...that's happy

Wo!Wo! I don't feel I've earned that siggy yet, I haven't even proven my mettle. Your like the Canucks, guaranteeing Brunnstrom Top 6 minutes without playing a second in the league. First I'll prove myself, then comes all the glory that accompanies th........

I'm gonna take Ovechkin for the Caps and, uh, Lupul for the Flyers.

Overtime in Game 7....I'm aroused

Ya, you wouldn't think that he would. There are some things about the Don that I like and respect, other things...not so much, but if one thing is clear it is that he doesn't like teams with a lot of Europeans that play more of a European style of game, ie. the Wings. Thus, with all of the hockey out there to be watched the past few weeks, I assume that he'd just avoid the Wings-Preds series entirely as it would not be the style of play that he prefers. As the Wings get deeper and deeper into the playoffs he'll become more and more exposed to them, although I don't expect it will change his opinion much. He'll focus mostly on players like Ozzy, Mac, Drake, Draper, maybe Stuart or even Helm if he can continue to have an impact. Meanwhile, he won't mention too much about Dats, Z, Lids, etc., even when he probably should. It's very predictable and I wouldn't get too worked up about it. Don Cherry, Pierre McGuire, and the rest of 'em aren't in charge of determining who hoists the Cup.

Words cannot describe how angry and confused I was reading through the first pages of this thread about Niedermayer returning and the Ducks being Cup favourites next year. I was thinking, "s***, they were eliminated two nights ago and we're already talking about them for NEXT year!". Then, finally, I looked up at the dates and realized that the majority of this thread was from before the season and breathed a heavy sigh of relief. But, from what I read, Opie was right all along. Sure defense wins championships, but with such an imbalance from the D to the O, your still gonna run into major roadblocks.

That's actually a good point that I've never really thought of until you brought it up. I guess this could potentially be the beginning of the end, the closing of the window, although that does depend on how the new (or old) GM handles it. Either way, I guess the only real difference is that Tampa and Carolina had much sharper dropoffs after their cup seasons with Carolina missing the playoffs both years since, and Tampa not fairing much better, while the Ducks at least had a contender this season. Seems like there is a pattern developing, lets hope the Ducks follow suit. ALthough I do think that we may see them make the playoffs next year, just in a far less dominant and highly anticipated role.

DuckGuy, your the only real affiliation that I have with anyone who considers themselves to be a Ducks fan. You make Ducks fans look good my man, a class act all the way! To that end...sorry for your loss, but hey, you could always make the conversion and change your name to WingGuy, just a thought.

Yes, they did. And then when the dust settled, they looked at the scoreboard and realized, "Oh s***! We don't get points for hits...we actually have to score to win games!". They had trouble scoring ALL YEAR, and yet somehow all the "experts" talked about how they were big and strong and "made for the playoffs". But, surprise surprise, the scoring issues didn't just magically disappear, and in facing an elimination game they get held to 1 goal on 18 shots against a team with a relatively young d-corps, missing their top defender. This is a big a big *uck you *ucks! Have fun golfing and moreover *uck all the talking heads who were to busy blowing them to realize that they actually had glaring flaws! Man, what a day for Wings fans /innapropriate rant over Oh, and this isn't directed to you #19forpres, just wanted to point something out based around a comment you made

I'm firmly of the opinion that Marty Brodeur can choose to shake or not shake whoever's hands he wants. Brodeur is a living legend and one of the alltime greats, meanwhile Avery is a scum-of-the-earth ass clown who somehow, not of his own efforts, gets played off as the lovable villain. Get serious. Granted, Avery is a marginally talented player with the ability to have an impact, but that's not what he's gonna be remembered for. He's gonna be remembered as that hockey player who represents everything that is wrong with humanity. Don't get me wrong, I'm not the hugest Brodeur proponent, but I think that he has every right to give Avery the metaphoric "*$%& You!". I don't think every player has earned the right to write his own ticket like that, but if only a few players have, Brodeur is sure as hell one of them. F*ck Avery! Go Wings!

WQF Game 5 GDT: Red Wings 2, Predators 1 (OT)

This actually makes me really happy. I really liked what I saw from this kid from what I saw this season. I just like the fact that he has some sort of outstanding quality that could prove helpful to the team unlike Hartigan who was woefully mediocre. I think that a Mac-Helm-Drake line (Drake has been playing lights out so far) could provide a nice and necessary spark in front of the home crowd. On a grander scale, I've got a real good feeling about this game. We're gonna find out a lot about the character of this team tonite. I think that Ozzy's stable presence between the pipes has a way of stabilizing the team into playing better in front of him, and I'm quite confident that we'll come out with a decisive victory tonite with enough momentum left over to carry into Game 6. GO HELM! GO OZZY! GO (REST OF TEAM)! GO WINGS! -
Let's Go Wings! Boys, I know that you've never gone up 2-0 only to lose two straight on the road and then still went on to win the series, not in recent history at least, but I believe this is the year...... O wait...what's that....Oh!, they have?....Piece of cake then! Getter done, boy!

It seems like every thread I've read during these playoffs, OsGod has a post or two where he doesn't even say anything, but illustrates his opinion through the use of unique emoticons. It's fricken hilarious. Also, this is great news. Osgood is a real stable, calm, cool, and collected presence on the back end, and his personality seems to resonate through the entire lineup. Hopefully, the rest of the team realizes that some of the blame for Hasek's "demise" falls on them, and they can respond accordingly. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I fully expect a game in this series where we really take them to school, put the game away early and never let them back in it - I think that game will be tomorrow night. 5-1 Wings. Let's Go Wings! Let's Go Ozzy!
