That was an elbow in that film. The damage was done when the guy smacked his head on the ice. Not the same thing. This would be similar to using a weapon like your stick to smack a guy. Elbows happen in hockey, as do cheap shots but taking somebodies head from behind and smacking it into the boards is akin to smack his head on the ice intentionally while you are on top. No place for that in hockey.

Look, if the Wings come out fired up I think we take game two and the series. However, this team is just as likely to pack it up and fold under physical play. We have seen that before as well. If you fail to acknowledge that then you are not being honest with yourself. Tomorrow could very well be a penalty fest with the refs trying to regain control of the series after Webers busch league d-bag move. BTW, this team was built to win on the PP, 5 on 5 against a very physical team is not our best match up. Thats reality.

The league needs to fold. It wont even protect its assets. In all honesty, I hope after the lockout it does fold. I have been watching the NHL for 30+ years and I can tell you this league doesnt even resemble the hockey I grew up watching. Since the lockout Bettman and Co have completely ruined this game. I hope they fold and the teams that actually make money form their own league. Betman and Lemeiux can have their own little league. One where no one makes any money and only Crosby is protected.

The League Office does not have to suspend in no match penalty was called. That is true. During the season they step in a lot. Not as much in any playoffs I can remember. Now if it was a match penalty their hands are tied. The Refs didnt call it an attempt to injure. Now with the media jumping all over this and the hit that happened in Vancouver, It's a pretty safe bet he will get a game. We shall see.

Boom, there it is. Maybe one game, IMO. And if that happens it will be because so far the media is forcing the issue. And also because its at the end of the game.... well that makes it likely he will have a seat for the next game.

Its all gonna depend on the call at the end of the game. Basically its in the Refs hands on how automatic it is. If the refs didnt call a match penalty like gross misconduct then he may not get a game.

Gaustad is the one that killed us tonight. IF we can stop him we can take this series. That guy WON every single critical faceoff. That includes some monsters on the 5 on 3 and late in the 6-5. That guy is a huge reason if the Preds can get through us they might win the cup. Stevie Y and Draper were our guys like this. In key times when you need the puck turned over, bam they get it back. Game Two will be critical, because if we can find a guy that Babs can trust to win against Gaustad we can head home and these type of games we will win. If we cant stop him I dont know if anyone in the league has a guy that can stop him, and this may be a team that will be in the Finals. We will see what we are made of in game 2.
