Honestly, that almost made me tear up. God, I hate the cheap shots at Michigan/Detroit. I'll never, ever understand what's so freaking funny about a failing economy. And now this. An friend acquaintance of mine, who is an Avs fan, tried to convince me today that the Wings will have to be sold someday because there will eventually not be enough money to keep them in Detroit. "F*ck you," is all I had to say to him.

I was curious about what kind of sin they had done to the Calder... On that note, I will never be able to be happy for a Chicago sports team. Ever.

I have zero tolerance for this bullsh*t. Not to get too personal on an online forum, but I've lost three close friends in the past four years to drunk driving accidents. I realize that may taint my rationality on this subject, but people should pay for this kind of behavior. In ways that won't allow them to forget. On that note, I was so happy to see the Bears release Benson this week. I don't think there's any excuse for driving (and boating!) under the influence, but especially not when you can more than afford to have someone drive your drunk ass around.

I'd be up for that. If I remember correctly, they practiced at Big Bear on Lowry when they were here for the playoff series. Sidenote: Was that really well over a month ago??

Might have to wait until I visit Michigan later this summer, though, cause it seems ridiculous to pay extravagant shipping for something like that. Of course I'm not surprised by this, but I hate that the SI cover this week is a preview of the NBA finals and that the Wings only get a little blurb at the bottom. It's fine, it's fine, and we should probably be satisfied with that. But... Anyway, nice article on Ozzie.

We are a pretty good time, if I do say so myself We should definitely do some get-togethers next year. Can't wait for the schedule to come out to see when the Wings will be out here.

I can't remember where I read it, but I know that I saw somewhere that it was actually his neighbors who placed the Stanley Cup and banner on his porch. I doubt Ozzie would have cared either way, especially considering his comments and actions at today's parade, but thought it was worth mentioning.

I hope there will be some sort of preview of where the Cup is going. Not gonna lie, I'd definitely plan my summer trips home (Chicago--Cheli and/or Lebda?) and up to our family's lakehouse (U.P.--Drake?) around it.

That's really odd. My tennis-loving, slowly-becoming-a-hockey-fan friend made the same comparison after the game last night. I think all of my favorite memories have been mentioned. But I love watching the replay of the clock ticking down to 0.0, and Cleary not realizing we had won until he saw Osgood raise his arms. Love it

Took awhile for me too (everyone rushing to the link to hear Lebda talk about his warm bed?), but definitely worth it.
