Just wanted to vouch for the fact that Moontime is in fact a very good time and was very, very full of Wings fans on Monday. I'd definitely be there again tomorrow night if I didn't have to be up in Fort Collins. Have fun!

I'm not really sure why I read that in its entirety. Sure was a long, long article. I loved when they referred to "dental trauma." And, I definitely winced at the thought of McCarty ripping out a fake tooth. And again at Maltby's ripped retina. I apparently have entirely too much time on my hands today.

I would rather see Abdelkader, for reasons I mentioned earlier. Upon further thought, perhaps my "McCarty? Please, Babs, no." statement was a bit much. I do think he's a liability and I'm doubtful of his ability to keep up with the pace of play, but he does have experience going for him. Also, I'd have to think that he feels a bit like he owes the Red Wings something. That coupled with what you mentioned (short shifts, forewarning him to be defensively responsible) has potential for a good game. Anyway, let's all hope for the best with Holmstrom. And, if not, trust Babcock to make the decision.

Depending on the status of Holmstom, it's a possibility. I agree that McCarty is funny to watch on the bench. But I've had enough laughing; it's time for the Cup.

I couldn't find anything either. If Holmstrom is unable to play, I think they should go with Abdelkader. Definitely not McCarty. I realize he's relatively inexperienced, having only played two NHL games thus far, but he's been with the team for this whole playoff run and you know he's salivating at the idea of playing in a Stanley Cup Final game with the team he cheered for growing up. Plus, fresh legs and a desire to hit anything wearing a black jersey? Yeah, I'll take it. Oh, and he's performed in clutch situations before. 18.9 seconds left, game-winning goal, anyone? I was fortunate enough to witness that in person, so I may be a little biased about its significance, but can you find a better definition of clutch? You could make the argument that that was college and this the NHL, but I trust that'll translate as much as I trust McCarty will be a liability.

My 8-year-old cousin, who is a huge Wheeler fan, is like, super super super bummed about this. As are his parents who have spent a fortune on Coyotes memorabilia. Whoops.

I'm going to take you up on that offer. Suddenly I'm not so bitter that my parents decided to move to Chicago...
