f*** I'm glad we won this game. Phoenix can play us pretty well some of the time, and they really play with a chip on their shoulder. And while I want to respect Doan as a hard nosed hockey player, he just makes too many dick moves over the course of a game - it makes liking him impossible. (See the late hit on Helm this game for one example, it was 3 seconds late and he just unloaded on him)

He's clutch in the playoffs and that's when it matters.

White and Stuart played a solid ass game tonight I noticed, other than that a lot of the team was getting beat and losing battles in both zones too much for my liking. Great Forsberg by Z for the win, but is Z injured? He seems to be struggling to keep up with the play, his strength looks great its just his speed Ive noticed.

I dont know why anyone is mad that the PA said no to this. The realignment was kinda f***ed up in the first place. The reasons the PA didnt like it were a) disparity in playoff chances between divisions, and b) travel I think that is totally acceptable, and I think were kidding ourselves if we believe that bettman's proposed realignment was the BEST the NHL could come up with. It was garbage to begin with and Im glad the NHLPA is blocking the plan. Maybe the NHL will get their heads out of their ass and come up with something that is fair for all teams. Thats what they want anyway isnt it? 'parity'

I just read Frasers Article on 'why edlers goal on howard should not have counted.' He follows up the article with a shameless plug for his book "The Final Call" Fraser recounts a story about calling goalie interference on Homer...heres some quotes from it, you guys will love this! Fraser has already premeditated giving Holmstrom a penalty during this game. A phenomenal call? please. Fraser made the call from 65 feet away! Interesting. What about the ref down low? Why didn't he make the call? Do I really believe Homer said this with a grin on his face as he happily entered the box? Not unless he was being sarcastic. Does anyone have video of this call? Id love to see what actually happened.

Why would you try to pilot a series like this starting with a person like Patrick Kane? Maybe I'm wrong but I think most people generally accept that that guy is a complete ******. Why do we need conferences at all? IMO every team should play every other team an equal amount of games and the top 16 in the LEAGUE should advance to the playoffs. That way travel is completely even across the board so nobody can complain.

Are you sure the re-alignment effects the current playoff system?

I just don't see the appeal of trading flip. Hes a homegrown wing, with great defensive responsibilities and puts up good points. I just don't know what you'd expect to get in return that would be better than what flip offers, whether hes having a good season or average season. Hes the kind of playmaker that makes his linemates better, just like dats and Z, but not quite at their level. For his salary, I think it would be foolish to trade him - especially given the red wings success.
