i thought the same exact thing. thought his stock went up fairly high. i still odont think hes played quite as good as ericson, but he proved he can be a top 4 dman. ericson is also more valuable, great size, strength, and shot, i would like to see him develop into a great player.

I think pahlsson has been good, he improved the pk, faceoffs, etc. he didnt come in with expectations of making the hawks that much better. Huet came with high expectations and hasnt really lived up to them, but i dont think you can blame tallon. I think he should be for campbell. Campbell seemed to be the hawks "coming out" party, he wanted to show the hawks were serious this year. I didnt think Campbell was all that good to begin with, but got lots of notoriety as a puck moving dman when the sharks picked him up. it shocks be that he was given such a huge contract. Compare Campbells and Kronwalls numbers, then salary. personally, i would much rather have kronwall.

since i live in chicago, i know theres a good amount of hawks fans that just realized the nhl is a real league. many dont know the game, the ones who do, probably are saying these things.

After Pronger wrestled down hossa, while getting up, pronger looked directly at the ref presumably thinking he would get called for the take down. i thought the initial hit was fine. huds call was bush league. stuarts was iffy, but possibly shouldve waited a split second. but i dont understand how stuart gets penalized when homer is standing in front and not allowed by the opposing d to deflect the puck. ive also noticed uncalled interference penalties when the wings are breaking out and the winger is hit before the puck comes. that being said, interference can be called on almost every play in some way. the nhl needs to do something to either amend the rule or cal it all the time.

the wing screwed themselves by playing like s*** in first 1/2 of the game, a decent midget team wouldve been competitive.

Eddie Olczyk, rarely has a god thing to say about the wings and that is only after they make a spectacular play. living in chicago, i get to listen to his great analyzing regularly watching the hawks. i believe announcers and commentators for their teams should be homers, but he always seems to throw in an anti-wing thing whenever doing vs/nbc games. its my opinion that his bias definitely shows. Also, darren pang is from chicago too. i like him as a commentator but he seemed to give more of a personal opinion, rather than saying it looked like he went down easy. Has anyone else noticed comments over the years made by Olczyk?

I think you're giving people too much undeserved credit. My point was that the NHL needs to showcase other gifted players. Other leagues talk up more than two players. NHL should do the same.

ive thought the exact same thing. the pens commercial all the time gets really annoying and i think there should be some new ones as the season goes... i think the nhl should do better marketing, more like the nba. the nba (espn) talks up countless players: lebron, kobe, shaq (to a lesser extent), howard, cp3, etc. (im suprised i was able to name them b/c i dont pay attention to the nba). but what the nhl needs to do is show case others in the nhl besides crysby and ao. they should show datsyuk, nash, getzlaf, parise, toews, etc. i feel casual hockey fans think there are only two great players in this league.

i think the game vs the blues showed that although osgood hasnt been osgood of last year, the team showed poor defense. probably the wrong place to post this but the team needs to focus more on better defense. 2 goals against less than a minute after the wings score. not good.

anytime hockey is mentioned on a network or nonhockey program its a good thing and theres no such thing as bad press
