How about hitting them with a clean hit of your own. I think the idea that hitters have to be fighters, some are but some aren't and that is fine, they are different roles. I think it is reasonable to think that if you lay down a good clean hit you better keep your head up and be ultra-aware that the other team is going to be going out of their way to lay a couple of good clean hard hits on you. I don't think however that it is reasonable to think that any time you lay a good clean hit on a guy you have to fight some 4th liner who is on the team primarily as a fighter. Kronner for example is not a fighter and shouldn't get into fights with any heavy weights (or even middle weights for that matter) and is a great Dman hitting aside. He shouldn't be lost for 5 minutes each time he lays a good clean hit.

No voicing your opinion is fine. BUT coming to Red Wings forum, posting in a Red Wings thread that is designed to encourage and pump up a Red Wings fan base after a tough loss due to two flukey goals, and the NHL ignoring Weber's actions, it is a toolish to come in and say it's not the Wings year and they will lose in 5. This was not a forum discussion about the series and even at that you didn't offer any analysis or rationale for your assertion that it isn't the Wings year. Edit: Additionally, my post was in response to another Preds fan saying that we like to rub it in Pred's fan's faces all the Cups we won, of course we are going to rub it in your face when you come into this forum and state what you did, it was meant to pick a fight and you knew it when you wrote it. Go Wings.

It's not so much that, at least not from me, but what kind of tool comes to a Red Wings fan website, to a thread trying to be positive about the Wings after a Game 1 loss and says this: In my opinion it is this tool who is "rubbing it in . . . fans faces" For the record, you have not acted that way at all but have been a great opposing fan to have on these boards.

Shea Weber fined for Zetterberg "headslam"
Frozen-Man replied to Manny>Ozzie(by a long shot)'s topic in General
Um . . . They did. They went 2 for 8 (not counting the two Nashville penalties with less than 30 seconds left in the game). 25% on the powerplay is great. -
Dan Cleary openly admits to being at 50%
Frozen-Man replied to NBCnothingbutcrosby's topic in General
Just saw that as well. I hope if Cleary is out he puts Nyquist in. -
Evidently Babs hasn't decided whether Cleary will play tonight or not. LINK

Dan Cleary openly admits to being at 50%
Frozen-Man replied to NBCnothingbutcrosby's topic in General
Exactly, Cleary is in a bad spot. If it came out that the coaching staff wanted him to play and he said he didn't feel good enough he would be ripped here for having to heart. The coaching staff are the ones that (whether right or wrong) will determine if having Cleary in the lineup is a net positive or a net negative. I don't think you fault the player for going out with an injury and playing as hard as he can if he shouldn't be in the lineup that is a coaching decision. -
Dan Cleary openly admits to being at 50%
Frozen-Man replied to NBCnothingbutcrosby's topic in General
I'll see if I can find the link but I remember reading that they intended to sit him out and get healthy/surgery but then Dats got injured and they told him that they needed him to play and then would just get the problem fixed in the off-season. As too him being in the lineup now, that really is Babs decision and he wouldn't play him unless he thought it was the best option that the Wings have available to them. -

Interesting read especially considering how much his contract is dogged around here and that he is often the resident LGW whipping boy. The entire article is here:

I'd like to see him play too but it seems kind of risky. If he has a horrible game and won't get to play until next year that might mess with his psyche.
-
Yeah I'm pretty sure Sheahan hasn't fought as a Griff yet. Here is an interview from today with Sheahan. Holland says that Sheahan might play Saturday. Link

I'm not opposed to getting tougher and would wish we had more fights (I think they add a very enjoyable element to the game) but your quote is severely edited and doesn't really capture what Babs said or the point that he was making. The entire thing gives a different picture, and it was reported that when Babs made the statement you quoted he was joking, basically harassing a reporter for his question about the team's toughness.

Zetterberg 10th on All-time Swedish Goal Scorers List
Frozen-Man replied to zetterbergfan's topic in General
Wow, congrats Z. Also, looking at that list its pretty amazing that Holmstrom is only 7 goals behind Forsberg (and actually only 10 behind Z). I know Homer has played a lot more games than those two but still impressive. Finally, look at Lids +/- for his career, a +455, incredible. -
Why shouldn't that logic hold true with Conks too? They aren't the highest but at 2.79 g/g they are in ninth place which isn't too shabby.

I agree Miller, Abby, and Nyquist could be a lot of fun to watch and really give the Blue Jackets fits. I think Nyquist's skills will be wasted on the fourth line.

Find a new picture you're proud of? Same picture different threads 4 minutes apart.

Also in the Quincy trade it was out of his hands. He didn't have a say in being traded to Tampa Bay and didn't have a say in subsequently traded to Detroit. Radulov on the other hand bolted of his on volition, let the team he ditched go through the grind of the first 70 games of the season and getting the Preds into a playoff position, and shows up playing the white knight (at least that has largely been the media's portrayal) to save the day and help the Preds advance through the playoffs. Additionally, Quincy's being added to the Wings happened in the ordinary course of business while Radulov's did not. To me it is apples and oranges comparing the Quincy and Radulov, it would a much closer comparison to compare Radulov's actions to what Selanne did when he sat out a good portion of the season a few years ago contemplating retirement.

Looks like Jimmy's return has been pushed back until Friday vs. the Preds. Per Khan:

Tampa Bay Lightning Affiliate Sets Pro Hockey Record
Frozen-Man replied to drumnj's topic in General
That's awesome. I used to go down and watch the Admiral's play when I was going to law school in Virginia. Very cool thing to happen to those kids. -
Yeah, it was funny watching most of the players try not to crack up. NHL.com thought it was funny enough to put a clip of it on their site "Sens and Pens get an earful of National Anthem." Karlsson is the funniest though you can tell he completely loses it.

Wow . . . it was like my ears got kicked in the crotch.
