Tentative/***** hockey on offense - some good checking but it looks like a pee wee team vs. a pro team when they enter the zone. I agree that Babs better switch some lines around or the ship will sink pretty fast here in the next two periods.

I think you're right - now that you mention it I recall the " we don't want to call someone up if they aren't going to play" quote from Kenny. I don't understand the love for Kopecky either but I'm just an armchair G.M. It's possible that Babcock's remarks about Ericcson were more about financial moves, necessary trades and waiver restrictions limiting the ability to call him up.

I don't think Babs is in control of personnel moves - he has stated that if it was his decision than Ericcson would have been up last year. The coach is responsible for the players on the roster - it sounds like he doesn't have much say other than partial input.

So is cross checking, tackling, punches to heads, face washing etc... I like Pang but he should just STFU about unsportsmanlike conduct calls in this series.

You could see it in the passing - everything was just a bit mis-timed....

His head was up - the pass was going in the opposite direction and he got blindsided. This wasn't a Stevens vs. Lindros type hit.

You can watch the replay at regular speed and count to three before the hit is delivered. Hudler is facing the other way and Brown follows through to the head. I don't see any room for argument in this case.

If the Wings had taken the same route with Fischer as they have with Ericcson than the criticism levied towards him would have been minimal. He would not have been playing at such a high level of competition during his maturation process. I always felt Fischer was in the NHL 3-4 years before he really should have been but necessity couldn't wait for him to progress in the minors.

The Rangers offense was offensive the last 3 games - I've never seen a playoff team that spent so little time in the offensive zone or cycling the puck. Caps 4 - Lundqvist 3

The first goal that tied it was just a great all around effort by Carolina. The GWG was a meltdown.... Can't wait to watch the Caps vs. Penguins series.

I found the blurb from Khan that said JLA is not available on Saturday. That may be why they are predicting a Friday start because you'd have a 2 day wait for game 3 if they start on Thursday. You never know with this league though... http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...od_practic.html

Regardless of whether or not the series starts on Thursday or Friday game 2 will be on Sunday. I read that JLA is't available on Saturday.
