I wouldn't be surprised to see Gainey either fired or moved to a different position...

That hit reminded me so much of Vladdy but with more weight behind it...

Hmmmmm... That was right about the time the octopi was thrown on the ice... Could it be??

Someone posted a ustream link on channel surfing - I can't guarantee that it will work or not but it is an option. Channel Surfing

I travel quite a bit too and had the same problems at every hotel I stayed at while working. hockeystreams.com has a speed test link where you can test your system and see if it is fast enough. every time I tested my system my connection was well above their minimum requirements but I still had issues. Try it for a month and see if you like it - the semis and finals will all be on vs and nbc anyways....

I'm the one who had "tons of problems" with their service on my router. I'm not the only one as you can view many of the chat threads and see complaints of lagging and delayed streaming. Once I switched from the router to a direct connection my problems ceased to exist. I wouldn't recommend them if you are using a router or slow internet connection. Contact the owner and see if you can do a month long trial to test the consistency and than purchase the remainder of the playoffs at the discounted price.

Yeah - it lagged, got cut off completely it was unwatchable most of the time. HQ was better on the router but it still lagged.

If you have a direct connection to your modem and high speed internet it is pretty good in HD. I had tons of problems with the connection using my wireless router.

Too many shots from the blue line, half boards and 10 feet to the side of the net.

Contract talks between Wings and Hossa, Franzen on hold
Glubki replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
I don't see how they can let Franzen walk and get nothing back for him in any scenario. Even if they retain Hossa it is better to sign Franzen and lose Hudler to FA and trade Flip and get some prospects or draft picks out of the deal than lose him and get nothing. -
He is getting royally screwed regardless of his morals. His ex was also awarded 9 million in assets. The $500k a year she gets is after taxes too so she will have received about 15 million from Marty when it is all said and done. Brodeur makes 5.2 million annually - after taxes he makes around 2.8 or 2.9 Miliion or so give or take. If he retires in 2012 his income will be minimal. That is an unjust ruling... Marty better start making tons of commercials or move himself and all of his remaining assets back to Canada when he retires.

Youth and lack of veteran leadership other than Buli, Campbell and Havlat and that isn't saying much. They haven't been the same since the Wings schooled them in that home and home. Plus they have Sharp on IR.

He's hot right now so he has a good chance. I could care less if he wins the mvp trophy - it is nothing more than a popularity contest at best. If he keeps playing like this there is a good chance we win another cup and that is good enough for me...

The Kansas City Grillers...

I was more surprised at how well they played at the start of the season after losing Streit and Ryder to free agency than by this announcement. With the way they have been playing there was/is a good chance that Carolina or Buffalo would have knocked them out of the playoffs. The injuries didn't help but Carbs did seem to lose control of the team and than the off-ice issues just put the final nail in his coffin. I wouldn't be surprised to see him behind the bench somewhere at the start of next season. Firing Gainey at this point wasn't going to help the team but I would bet his job is in jeopardy if they fail make the playoffs or advance past the first round.

I think that Detroit lost its enthusiasm for Russian players after Grigorenko and all the B.S. the Russian Hockey federation has pulled over the past 10 years. Russia can pay it's players as much as the NHL can with the salary cap so drafting them becomes a risk if they don't want to come over.

This is my thought as well - Leino can score but I'm not sure how well he would do in tight checking hockey with limited space against teams like San Jose and Calgary. He is still a bit raw on his wheels - Helm is a good skater and has proven he can play at that level.

if you like Mexican Food and don't enjoy the "downtown crowd" try El Arriero's on 28th St. It's really good food for less than $10 a person.

The 21 foot boat left the shore yesterday at 6:30 A.M. for a fishing trip in high winds... http://www.mlive.com/lions/index.ssf/2009/...ng_in.html#more

The basic stream at hockeystreams.com sucks... If you get it I'd go with the HD and pay with a credit card so you can dispute the charge if they get shut down because I don't believe they have a license agreement.

Rumor: Red Wings Aquire Mathieu Dandenault from Montreal Canadiens for
Glubki replied to Herr Hockey's topic in General
Given the limited number of defenseman available that they can actually afford it wouldn't surprise me to see them move now before someone else made an offer. I'm still hoping it isn't true... -

1.725M cap hit annually... -
Thanks for the lecture on life Dr. Phil.... You hit the nail on the head though - either you pay for it or you don't. The NHL can charge what it wants for it's services; I have no complaints about it.

I even noticed Lidstrom laying on some lumber around the net last night....
-
Can I afford it? Yes Will I pay for it? Nope - not as long as the force me to pay for games I could care less about. I canceled my cable over five years ago for the same reason. I admit it - I'm a tightwad....
