During last night's game they interviewed St. Louis during the intermission. He was asked about playing for Melrose and his body language and demeanor told a different story than his words. I'm not a Melrose fan but I sort of feel sorry for him. He should have done a 1-2 year stint in the ahl before returning to the big leagues after such a prolonged absence. Tampa doesn't have a clue....

Exactly... They need to cycle the puck more and keep the opposition pinned down in their defensive end. Break aways and odd man rushes are exciting but north/south hockey combined with poor passing leads to many shots on goal by the opposition.

I agree and this has been going on all year... I'm a big fan of Pavel's but he is getting too cute with the puck in both zones. Even in the offensive zone he seems to be trying to make passes into traffic and often the passes are going into his teammates feet leaving them in a difficult situation when trying to accept the pass. This doesn't negate all of the good things he does but he is not himself when passing the puck this year, neither is Lidstrom for that matter. The 5 on 5 play has been horrendous at times and we are trying to dump and chase more than we have in the past decade. I also saw Kopecky standing around like a lost boy scout 3-4 times last night in the defensive zone - he is currently on my s*** list... The Wings will come around eventually!

Mo is alright but as far as legendary fans go none of them can compete with "the Brow"....

They don't play again this year unless they both make it to the SCF - that probably had something with the way Dallas was playing. Steve Ott is a punk ***** and so is Avery. Ott is going to get his someday if he keeps on playing the way he does. I don't know how anyone watching those clips can think that those were clean plays. The announcers went a bit overboard with their call of the action...

From what I've seen I'd have to say that Maltby has played his best hockey in 3-4 years so far. Just because he was scratched one night doesn't mean he has lost Babcock's confidence. They don't need him on the pp they need him on the pk.
