I like Flip but I wouldn't be all that disappointed if someone signed him to an offer sheet and we got at least a first and third rounder.
-
He wont play in G.R. this year - if he doesn't make the team he'll go back to Finland. If he impresses the coaching staff they will probably try to hold on to his rights for another 2 years.

Him and Hitchcock are going to get along real well
-
One discrepancy is hockey buzz has abdelkader counting as 850,000 against the cap...
-
4 million left Flip = 2M Chelios = 750,000 Mac = 650,00 That would leave about $600,000 Flip is now a prime candidate for an offer sheet.....

Huselius can score but he is soft... He spent the last half of 07/08 in Keenan's doghouse for not finishing checks that is why they let him walk. I like his scoring and wouldn't mind seeing him on the wing but he doesn't really fit the Babcock mold...

6.10 wip in philly reports Flyers talking with Shanahan

Ya - my point was that this combined with the Metropolit deal makes Shanny signing there unlikely... -

They were at 54.5 Million before the day started lol - I wonder how much the Metropolit deal was for? -

The Flyers just signed Metropolit, Vaananen & Raduns - they have to be just about broke.... -
TSN said Detroit has a long term deal on the table for him...
-
I heard it too - I'd go apes***...
-
It doesn't look like they are going to feed the whole show - just the updates.... That justintv link above has it on right now...
-
They are already 3m over the floor - they probably aren't after Redden but the guys at the Pred's HF board think they will be going after a top 6 forward...
-
That is a surprising move - I wonder if the Preds are targeting Redden?
-
Rolston must have given them a definitive no this morning....
-
TSN starts theirs at 5pm...
-
The guy could have gotten a lot more on the open market so this will go a long ways in the dressing room - way to go Kenny!

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=242048&...=topRelated_nhl Tampa is the talk of the town....

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=242041&...os=secStory_nhl He wouldn't have been my first choice if Stuart leaves but just one more option crossed off the list.

Rolston was quoted as saying he intends to become a UFA regardless of the trade for his rights. He is apparently seeking a 3 year deal in the 4.5-5 million range so a one or two year deal with Detroit looks unlikely.

The internal armchair GM within me is shaking his head at these moves but I can see where teams would do this; especially this year when even some of the bottom feeders are going to be forced to spend money to hit the 40 million dollar floor. Supply and demand definitely favors the players right now. Is Tampa making the right moves? Probably not - they are overspending a bit, trading draft picks away and focusing too much on offense by the looks of it.
-
Is Rolston next - Russo is reporting that the Wild are going to send his rights to Tampa?? http://www.startribune.com/sports/wild/226...on_refer=Travel

3 years too long and about 1-1.5M a year too much... This reminds me of the Bruins and Lapointe in 01/02 - only worse...
-
He is an RFA this year - any team dealing for Bouwmeester would require it to be a sign and trade deal or a major contract sheet offer...
-
I disagree with you from a salary standpoint but there is absolutely zero chance of Jay B. signing with the Wings because the cost of acquiring him would be too high so there is no sense debating it...
