Only 4 years since he won the Selke.... Let me guess - Roberts will be unstoppable but Draper and the rest of our vets are too old to compete? The best way for Detroit to defend against Crosby or Malkin is to keep the puck low in their ofensive zone and cycle it - All four of our forward lines excel at this - as long as our top two defensive pairings are on the ice against your top two lines we will do alright. I think this is going to be a great series and I'm not foolish enough to make predictions although I do forsee each game having as many as 5-6 goals combined...

What makes you think our second line will be playing against your second line? The Pen's two top lines will be hard to match but I wouldn't be surprised to see our top line go head to head with the Crosby line while the Draper line battles with Malkin or even the top line depending how the matchups pan out. The Wings will probably juggle lines to contain Malkin - especially at home. This will free up our second line.... Are you forgetting that Draper's name is on 3 cups and that he is a former Selke winner???

Maybe it was just me - when Turco first shakes his hand he looks Ozzy directly in the eye, nods and says something inaudible. Then as he is passing Ozzy asks him a question and I swore he said - "not as a backup" Ozzy could have asked him if he was going to play with team Canada....

I dont understand why they can't insert tiny goal-line cams inside the posts - especially for the playoffs. Two mini-cams on each side ought to do it - one low and one at medium height. I mean it's not like the cost of the cameras would bankrupt the league....

Injuries are one thing but Quenneville lost control of that team during the Wing's series. Their defense was non-existant and all the penalties were inexcusable for a team that made it all the way to the second round. Also - As mentioned above the decision to stick with Theodore was a joke... I wouldn't be surprised if they let him walk....

This can go both ways - if he comes to a team with talented players they could make him look better and increase his bargaining power. Look at Brendan Morrison in Vancouver - Bertuzzi and Naslund made him look like a superstar...

I was never upset at the deadline - just surprised that he made no move for a forward with 4 mil in additional cap space. In hindsight it was a genius move because now they can use the extra cap room and apply bonuses (Hasek, Chelios,Mac and the remaining 06/07 bonus money) to this years cap and start with a fresh slate next year.

Its about what I expected... There really werent a lot of options with the limited number of players available and an empty cupboard in the farm system. Ilitch must need the 4-5 million leftover for the Tigers!
