It's called the Cha Cha Slide....

The media back then was nothing like it is today... There was no opportunity to ***** and if they did no one would have paid any attention.

Yzerman was a class act all the way -and I don't mean to ruin anyone's image of the man because everything he earned in his career was well deserved. BUT, he spent as much time arguing every call in the 80's thru the mid 90's as any other player including Gretzky! That was just how it used to be...

My only complaint is that the Wings seem content playing north to south with little T.O.P. in the offensive zone - that is Pittsburgh's game...

This is true - the TSN poll has the Pens favored by about 7% and the media is backing them even though the odds-makers have the Wings as the favorites. You can see the animosity for the Wings and their fans on every message board and comment section online. Success breeds hatred!

He's not that bad - I would describe him as more of a tone-setter. Both teams would be advised not to try to get away with the little meaningless hooks and petty crap in the first period.
-
I don't like Devorski - He is fair but he tends to like to try and control the game at times instead of letting them play it out. We'll have to see if he pockets the whistle more for the finals.

Game 1: Lidstrom will play, Ericsson questionable

Now would be a good time to pull out some old audio footage of Brent Gilchrist taking the big needles to the groin to stay in the playoffs and play them for the boys... -
Yes - there is an ESPN Zone in Vegas = it is right on Las Vegas Blvd... The best thing to do is look up Vegas sports bars online and than call around and see if they will be airing the game.

Khan says 6 maybe 7 - it is up on mlive now...

Not even the NHL is that stupid - that would be a 9am start on the west coast - not a chance...

The team with the - rating is the favorite and the + is the underdog. The wings are at -155 so If you want to win $100 you would have to bet $155 The pens are the dogs so if you were to bet $100 right now and they won you would win $125. It is basically a calculated scale done by the betting house in which they require more money to place a bet on the favorite with the potential of a lower return. Less money for the underdog but with the chance of a higher payout. Just to keep things in perspective in regards to all the media pundits - bookies and oddsmakers are typically right about 70-77% of the time from the onset of their predictions barring any unforeseen injuries. The pundits don't come close to that...

Duhatschek: Wings will successfully re-sign Hossa
Glubki replied to ComradeWasabi's topic in General
A lot of it would depend on what team is making the offer and how high the anticipated pick would be - a possible top 10 pick and high 3rd rounder for Hudler if the offer is over 2.615M? I like him but that would be difficult for Detroit to pass on given their salary predicament. Now is the time to begin looking for a top six forward or blue chip defenseman while deferring potential salary problems for a few years. Unfortunately, every team out there is aware of the Wing's salary issues and any offer sheet will probably be right at 2.5M annually. -
The over and under is low - I was in Vegas back in February and remember seeing the Penguins were at about +750 to win the cup with Detroit as the favorites.

Has anyone seen odds for the entire series? I see the wings are favored in game one but I can't find the series odds.

I don't like Devorski but he is better than O'Halloran and Jackson...

I like them more than the Ducks...

There are tickets for sale on Flea-bay right now - looks like the going rate is about $400 to $800 a pair - lol....

Kovalchuk - Next Year UFA, A way to bypass this years cap Problem
Glubki replied to Probie's topic in General
Here is a neat calculator from RWC that everyone can use to create different cap scenarios. Cap Calculator I don't think the Wings will have Hossa or any other unsigned player making more than 2 million per year next season because of the cap and current contracts but that is just my opinion. -

Even at Franzen money the Wings would still need at least 2 more forwards at the league minimum to even come close to the salary cap.... -
Bill McCreary and Eric Furlatt are reffing tonight. I don't know much about Furlatt but McCreary is an even them up kind of ref and likes to make call from center ice... I don't think Q's statements will have much of an effect.

With Hank and Franzen's contracts locked up the only free agents this team is going to be looking at are back up goalies if they decide Howard can't cut it.

Patience is a good thing for D-man but sometimes I'd like to see him be a bit more aggressive/energetic looking for the outlet pass or clearing the puck out of the zone. Maybe he just looks sluggish because of his size...
