I was hoping it would be something like 'HockeyTown 4'... guess I'll save my money.
-
wow, think before type; it's a great concept.

Let's compare 3 different facets of the game 5 - 5 Short-handed Power Play oh wait, Crosby doesn't play short-handed because he doesn't know how to play defense. Sorry, I'd take Datsyuk everytime. More complete player, which in the playoffs, is what you need. Breakdancing would probably be easier to arrange. How bout guitar hero or DDR

Any word on a 'HockeyTown 4' -esque DVD with the set or coming out separately?

Very true; most if not all stadiums/arenas count paid attendance. The most obvious reason is because they can't resell a ticket just because someone didn't show up. Personally I wish there I was a way to resell tickets; if someone hasn't shown up by the start of the 2nd period, the ticket can be sold again or something like that. I'm sure it's pretty much impossible, but I can dream can't I?

I'm listening to podcasts of The Free Beer and Hot Wings show while at work

"FSN Detroit provides local and national sports programming throughout Michigan and portions of Northwest Ohio and Northern Indiana" -from DirecTV website Also, to get HD on the Center Ice Package, DirecTV has this statement. "*To access DIRECTV HD programming, a MultiSatellite dish, along with a DIRECTV HD Receiver, HD television equipment and HD Access fee ($9.99/mo.), is required. In some markets, a five-LNB dish and H20 model DIRECTV Receiver are needed to receive HD local networks delivered by DIRECTV." If you have Fox Sports Detroit HD currently and plan on getting the Center Ice package, I would assume you would get the games in HD. However, I'd call DirecTV to confirm that. I'd hate for you to listen to me and waste $150 on my account

A lot of times, you can buy a sports package which will allow you to see almost all the Fox Sports Channels around America. However, as soon as a game comes in that isn't in your home area, the channel is blacked out. My guess is, you will still have to buy the Center Ice Package to see the games. I guess it depends on what area the FSN Detroit channel includes. FSN Detroit only broadcasts home games in HD. I think only a couple of the away games were in HD last year. Hopefully/Maybe that will change this year. If you get Versus than you should be able to see every Wings game (as long as the FSN D channel comes through for games). I think the NHL Network had a couple games, but I saw it either on Versus or FSN D because I don't get the NHL Network. Hope that helps

I wonder if it might be good to have a first half winner, second half winner, and overall winner. That way if someone joins the website after the start of the season they can still shoot for the 2nd half winner. Just my 2 cents...

He's kinda like Lindros... only with a knee problem instead of a head problem -
I suppose sportsmanship would have been to stickhandle the puck away from the Bulgaria for 60 minutes. You play the game; trying not to score just pisses off the other team when they can't get the puck. Bulgaria never should have put a team together. Bulgaria never even got a shot! The IIHF should have a mercy rule on the books, but seeing as they don't, I don't think it's Slovakia's job to play down to the Bulgarian level.

HAHA, I loved how he looked like a bobble head doll when he was presenting the Cup to Lidstrom

Other than the fact the league has seen not 1, but 2 stoppages since he has been commissioner and that he let the NHL become the first sport to lose an entire season to a work stoppage, I think he has been great for the NHL

Fans vote for the ESPY awards not ESPN.

Yup, it will be released next Wednesday; it's normally released the day after the MLB All star game. This is the 1 day out of the year that no other pro sports are going on, so Bettman figures the NHL will receive the most attention... or something like that

It should either be New York or Boston. I mean come on, it's "TITLETOWN".

I'm surprised the Avs didn't go after him

Anyone think that an NHL team in North Dakota would be viable? Hockey seems to be pretty popular there. Just posing the question...

Do the Recent Signings get Butts in the Seats this Year?

For some people, the ticket price is only about half the cost of going to a game. Gas prices, parking, and vending prices almost equal 2 tickets to watch a game at the JLA. Even if someone plopped tickets on my desk, I'd only be able to make a couple games a season with all the other misc costs. Lowering ticket prices will bring more people in - plain and simple. -
In 2002, everyone said we bought the Cup. Either way, if they aren't fans of the Wings, they will find a reason to hate the Wings. This just adds fuel to the fire. IDGARA

Sorry, I still catch SportsCenter every night. ESPN is the king of all sports networks despite what many say. I thought ESPN's hockey coverage was great back in the day. NHL 2 Nite was cool to watch.
