If you had the rink go parallel to one of the foul lines, than the people near home plate and along the foul line would have a really good view of the rink. However, they'd have to put temporary seating on the field for the other side. If the rink went straight out to center field starting in the middle of the infield, the rink would be about in the middle of the field. You'd need your binoculars though...

I believe Holmstrom was skating to the net and got dumped which is what the NHL calls "i-n-t-e-r-f-e-r-e-n-c-e" or "t-r-i-p-p-i-n-g". He didn't have the puck; very simple to call. Not calling would not have affected the outcome of the game. But yes, Gill is a goon for dumping Holmstrom the entire game.

No way! You don't pull the goalie with more than 3 minutes left if your down by 1 goal. Especially if you're on the power play, other team gets free shots at the empty net. 4:30 is a TON of time to score a goal. You let the power play go, see what's working for you. Then get the puck deep, pull the goalie, and hopefully get a stoppage. The Wings never got it deep after the power play; at least when they had possession. By the time they had possession, there was 30 sec left and it was in their zone. Just didn't work out.
