Game 7 for the Detroit/Dallas series would be Wednesday May 21 while game 7 for the Pittsburgh/Philadelphia series would be May 22. The starting time for the Finals is already set. That way the arenas can schedule other activities i.e. concerts, basketball games, etc without having to worry about a conflict. Granted JLA doesn't really have that problem, but some arenas do.

Game 1 will be May 23 (Friday) or May 24 (Friday) most likely. If both teams sweep, it might move up to Thurs of that week.

The Wings beat the Stars and the refs tonight. Stars had momentum in the 1st and the Wings stayed with it. They wore the Stars past the breaking point and now have a strangle hold on this series. Anyone else find it funny that most of the Stars injuries are coming from themselves?

Sorry, I play goalie too and putting the butt end of your stick in someone's face as they skate by is no where near the same as someone swinging a stick at your chest. Ozzie didn't swing his stick in Ribero's face. He put it in the way; Ribero skated by and pulled his back making so he probably got some tape burn... ouch This is just a bad precedent by the NHL. Basically as long as you don't cause an injury, the hardest swing of a stick will not get you suspended. If Ozzie had tried to duck out of the way, the stick would have been right across the mask. Wearing chest pads do not fully protect you from injury; slashes across the chest still hurt, they just aren't as bad as they would be if you weren't wearing pads.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe 90% of the people that responded to that thread ripped the author apart.

First of all, sticking out the butt end of your stick to a moving player is very different than forcing the butt end of your stick into someone's face. NHL is a disgrace for just washing this under the rug. F the stars!!!

This coming from the guy that slashed Holmstrom right above the ankle; hit someone in the wrong spot there and they are going to be done playing for a long time. Sticking the butt end of your stick out is hardly comparable. The force to the face is as fast as the player is skating, which isn't much. Sweep the Dallas mother f'ers!

Oh I understand it's a business and I can understand them wanting a certain player to get more face because of them winning the Cup. However, when that comes at the expense of fair play and fair competition, the league will be signing it's death warrant. It's a business, but it's also a sport.

I totally agree. Personally, I would think if the NHL is pushing for someone to win, they'd want Ovechkin over Crosby. I'd stop watching if the league starting pushing the "prettiest" player
