I think you did what pretty much any of us star struck fans would do, I see Stevie Y everytime he comes to GR as he walks right by me heading to the Griffins Locker room, and I always say...this is the the time I talk to him...he has said hey to me a couple times, but i just nod and say hey back...it is about all i can do not to just smile and stare at him like a dumbass. The only thing I think I would have said, and say quite regularly to some of the players, Other than McGrath, Helm and Ericsson whom I actually have had good conversations with, would be Good Luck tonight...(or tomorrow night as it would be in your case)

The late start was indeed for the GVSU Winter Commencement, and as being one of the people who are involved with setting up the Friday night changeover going from a Hockey Rink, to a Commencement, back to a hockey rink, let me tell you, to actually be able to only have to move the game back an hour is a true test of the Arena Staff, I am just involved in the video side, and it takes nearly 5 or more hours to do the switch... That being said, from my Vantage point, being the Director of Inhouse Video, I can say that was by far the worst game the Griffins played thus far... I do think it had some things to do with Chelli, but only because alot of our players you could tell were not used to playing with him, and to me he is definitly starting to show his age, as he was CLEANLY beaten to alot of pucks, and was out muscled a couple times in the corners... Downeys fight was good, they definitly has some punches being thrown... but I LOVED the Abdelkader Fight, Justin definitly went wild and threw some huge haymakers and pretty much didnt even let the Bulldog he was fighting any room to breathe... getting a unique perspective on things, I can honestly say that Larsson has certainly showed his stuff almost all season (cept for that really bad night against milwaukee early on) But I do admit, when Jimmy is on, he is amazing, Friday night against Chicago the Wolves had a 1:47 of a 5 on 3 and Jimmy stood absolutely on his head turning aside at least 5-6 golden scoring chances in that span. Overall The record is a bit decieving but I do think we are blessed with two great goalies in GR... The thing that both need to work on is keeping focus....the both do seem to have momentary lapses every now and then...

First Time I have truely looked forward to a 3rd period... My wife looked at me after the second and said, lets hope it isnt an exciting 3rd, I said it can be exciting just on our part for once, and it was! I am digging the Bruins, they are playing a good brand of hockey... The Ference hit on Ott was totally clean, and I even cheered for it, mostly cause Ott does his job, meaning he makes EVERYONE hate him.... As for the game, I am kinda worried about Dallas...not because of a skill wise, but what they showed here... Boston has some bruisers (Lucic, Thornton, Chara) that could take what they are dishing out, but what happens when they start doing this stuff to us? I dont even think Downey will be useful if we bring him up, because OTT is just gonna be running at players and then pussing out when it comes to dropping the gloves... That is the only thing that worries me

it was on fsohio again... It was a good comeback for the Griffs, with a win in the SO Didnt catch the fight unfortunately...

My only thoughts on the game are that we are not playing anywhere near our potential... We coast to pucks, get beat in our own zone, Make HORRENDOUS passes that are leading to big scoring chances... overall I think Hossa is really timid, or is gripping the stick a bit tight, because he seems to be missing something still, and hasnt been able to jump that last hurdle.... and is anyone else sick of Lebda? I hear all the time how great his speed is, yet, all i ever see is him being beat in his own end....sure speed is his thing, while going the other way, but even chasing down a puck, he is getting beat by some pretty slow type forcheckers...I dunno, I have had an issue with Lebda since he came back to GR and stunk it up horribly in the playoffs cause he was given 1-2 dman mins, and did the same thing last season when him and lils were our 1-2 in feb. Overall I want to see the wings play their game, it is a bit of a stinker that they are this close even while playing bad, but if they can turn it on, and play a full game at their potential, I will be very happy to see it.

I was upset that the opener was on VS, mostly cause we didnt see the boys introduced like FSN does for every opener, and also thought it was pretty damned disrespectful to listen to "Doc" and Ed Oldcluck babbling during the national anthems....pretty damn lame imho

We are hoping that GR has a strong team, but the same was said last year before the Debacle that was called our Season... With Leino, he has agreed to spend at least a month in GR if he is sent down, and we hope he will stay longer, because the line of Haydar, Helm and Leino is a drool worthy thought in GR, with Big Rig shoring up the D, and that is a DAMN good first line. Talking to the Griffs GM, he is feeling quite happy about the Talent we are gonna have in GR this year, only downside is it is going to be a VERY young team, unless Mac gets sent down...

I will always remember when he was booed for this during his retirement night... He was always passing off recongnition, and that night the fans let him know it was ALL about him... That still makes me smile

LOL dont get me wrong, I loved seeing them on TV, but...that was awful scripting... You can tell that was told to them right before they went out there.... Its all good though cause those Wings fans are happy campers now!
