i lived in new mexico for a few years, a place without much hockey. due to its proximity to colorado, there are alot of avs fans there, however. anyways, at work, this cute girl was wearing an avs jersey. out of the blue, she told me she hated me (i was wearing a wings hat). after some of the old motown charm, like an idiot, i ended up asking her out. we dated for a year, until she flaked out. she thought deadmarsh was 'dreamy'-it was the late 90's. moral of the story-Never date a woman who wears a post expansion-era team's jersey!

lol...no, man, the loonie is canadien currency...i am not a name caller. i was trying to give a twist to the "two cents" figure of speech. i can see maybe see selanne, upon further review.maybe. but i don't think that jr's nationality should be a factor in getting a nod. sundin is consistent, and one of the classiest players ever, but he lacks that jaw dropping, electric quality that gives one a ticket to the hall. i just do not think that he is "one of the best ever to play the game". and i think that is what one should ask about a prospective inductee, "was he among the best ever?" this is all subjective. just my 1/2 euro

just my .002 loonie: i am of the opinion that the hall is on the verge of becoming lax in letting too many players get inducted. the hall of fame should be comprised of players who were heads and shoulders above their contemporaries-not just frequent all stars. worthy players should be, at their peak, blinding in their talent, and beyond compare. i love sundin, jr, and respect selanne,- those players, in my mind, were superior, often excellent. But they are not deserving of being in the rarefied air of historical greatness. they lacked that certain something that makes real greatness. they were not once in a lifetime players, legends. like i said, just my opinion

i am just glad that bizarre edmonton beef tossing thing is passe

i must admit that i did not expect to see the wings play rough and tumble. can anyone remember when we last physically dominated the preds? the nashville announcers are awful, btw
-
i am just digging kopecky-he is turning it up at the right time, and in the style needed for the playoffs

lol sammy just gave that guy a noogie! i'll never think he is useless again

whata hit!!!!

why i am not afraid of the sharks: the hockey illuminati (probably scotty bowman and harold snepsts) will forbid da cup going to california 2 years in a row.

i seem to remember a commercial where some guy gets hit in the head by a glove at the gordie howe exhibit, but i cannot find it on youtube. i don't think that i imagined it..

100 lifetimes for this guy

Lots of players are only as good as the team they are on. There are few players in the history of the game that can turn a team in to a champion single handed. Dustin Penner is not in that category. With a supporting cast he can be an important player, but he can't make a team elite. i agree. it seems especially true with power forwards, with their high injury rate, and the need of an accompanying playmaker. examples seem to be escaping my mind right now.

4 and a quarter billion, eh? inflation is a killer lol

4.25 million a hefty sticker price for these stats: 73 19 22 41 -10 but, he was a duck, and after some feather-rankling, now he is not. so i imagine that counts for something

i agree with an earlier poster claiming that an underdog status is preferable. it creates more esprit, and edginess. attitude one needs. remember that the lindros flyers were picked to win the cup and...detroit zambonied them.

i am just hoping that all of this pronger crap will cause the refs to be more strict on doling out suspensions on him and his ilk during the playoffs. so my theoretical dream goes like this: pronger elbows homer, gets five games, not 1...

i wanna blame jiri sleger

ya know, i have always thought of lilja as a bob rouse kind of player-stay at home, tough and cheap as a newly divorced cougar.

Well ya know, Stomping is allowed. But NO fighting!

i also agree with you. above all other sports, hockey is a team sport. if the nhl wants to expand the fan base, it must do so by also selling the sport as a package, not just 'star-vision' imo. as a side note, can you imagine a 'datsyuk cam'? the poor cameraman would get dizzy and exhausted. or even a 'Lang cam'....

my favourite quote: "the two toughest goal tenders in the league". like, yeah, there were more than two... back then the refs were not as hurried to break up a scrap. Hell, i remember back playing in rec leagues in the late 80s refs would let the guys just tire themselves out. tough guys showing their mettle. tootoo would last about .03 seconds in the hockey way-back machine

that should be our new smiley insert

commentary is in swedish today which might make some people happy. i thought mickey sounded different on my computer today.........

power forward juri "the big hurt" hudler named hockey ambassador of the world. supreme emporer scotty bowman, founder of the illuminatti and one time phaoroh of egypt, gives the hockey legend the shriveled head of one jordin tootoo, a minor hockey plqying demon in the 21st century.
-
wow, i don't know if i am capable of rooting for the tootoo's team...ahh the humanity!!!
