    No assist for Datsyuk?

Does the NHL ever go back a day or two to correct statistics? I really wanted Pavs to get his 90th yesterday.

    Life in plastic

Grand Rapids Griffins forward Justin Abdelkader discusses the slightly odd fact that he shall live on in bobblehead form: March 19, Grand Rapids Press: Saturday's game will be special for sure, because the team is giving away 2,500 bobbleheads of me. You may have seen the picture in The Press on Tuesday. Having your own bobblehead is pretty cool, especially since I was chosen through a vote of Griffins fans. I have a lot of support here on the West side of Michigan, and it didn't hurt that a mass e-mail was sent out within my old high school, Mona Shores, encouraging people to vote for me. The fans have been great to me all season long. I have seen a lot of bobbleheads of pro athletes and always thought it would be cool to get my own someday, but I never thought it would happen. And it even looks like me a little bit! Saturday will be pretty special, especially with many of my friends and family in attendance. http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2009/03/life_in_plastic.html

  13. Red Wings defenceman Chris Chelios spoke to WCSX's Deminski and Doyle today, and he discussed his status as a Red Wing over the long haul--he did a fantastic job of refusing to discuss any post-Red Wings plans in detail, preferring to discuss the play of Jonathan Ericsson and note that breaking his leg set him back--as well as his long-term commitment to his Cheli's Chili restaurants as a Detroit institution. The 13:25 interview's worth your time: Link to MP3 Link to mlive

    Holmstrom injured again

Lilja not close Defenseman Andreas Lilja, out since Feb. 28 with a concussion, continues to experience headaches. "We're waiting for him to come in two to three days in a row and tell us he's symptom-free," Holland said. "Then, we'll get him on the (exercise) bike and ramp it up each day. If all goes well, he's at least a couple of weeks away." Center Valtteri Filppula (back) is expected back for Friday's game at Atlanta and right wing Tomas Holmstrom (knee) also is close to returning. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20..._wing.html#more

    More thoughts from Holland

Per mlive: Contract talks slow Holland has met several times lately with the agent for Johan Franzen and plans to meet again next week with Marian Hossa's agent. But he is not close to finalizing deals. "I'm prepared to move slowly," Holland said. "They're important players, but I'm only prepared to do something if it makes good business sense." He said if no deal is in place with either player in early April, he will readdress the situation after the playoffs. "We can keep both, but (if they do), we're going to lose a lot of players," Holland said. "I'm moving slowly because they're big decisions for us and for the players. If there's a fit, beautiful. If not, sometimes you got to head in different directions." http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20..._wing.html#more

100 Pts Will he do it?
