Just trying to figure out if the bigger idiot is Clusterf*** or Ott...
-
We'll make it to that playoffs. At that point, we've got as much of a shot as anyone else. For those who don't think we have a chance, and are bitching about the Wings, I believe Pittsburgh has some room for more (bandwagon)fans.

Not a bad idea. Here's the thing, though. Right now, the puck has to cross the line completely, showing white ice between the puck and the line. There is currently something that detects that. It's called a pair of f***in' eyeballs! Any measure implemented by the NHL is going to be f***ed into the stone age by incompetent half-wits who like to play God by re-writing very recent history. Seriously, how do you screw up the "white ice between the puck and the line" thing?

Instead of Overeacting educate yourself on the Facts of Ott's Goal

The blame on this one lies solely with the administration of the NHL. When all the rules are as funky as they are, bad s*** is going to happen. The ref that was right on the doorstep should have had the only say. If a linesman thinks he sees it differently, they should discuss it, then refer to Toronto if necessary. Buttman has turned this league into the laughingstock of pro sports. He has allowed human error, bad judgement, extreme bias, and complete incompetence to dictate the outcome of most of the games. -
Hmmm....."Are We In?"

Does anyone else not care when we get a PP anymore?

Yeah...next time you make a statement like that, try to remember to use the sarcasm ninja. Like this: Lebda sucks ass through a straw, but Yzerman was worse. Any questions? -
Got it...my bad...

Since you are, forcefully, imposing your tipping standards on others, I have one question. If the service sucks ass through a straw, do I, or do I not have to tip? You have only managed to contradict yourself here. I know, I'm the one that asked earlier not to turn this into the "Tipping" thread, but I just love it when people tell me how to spend my money.

Been saying it all along. This is still a team to beat. Yeah, we're banged up a bit right now, but get some of those guys healthy and send some of the kids back to GR, and we have cup run. As for Hossa...well, he didn't bother showing up for the playoffs anyway. The dude was hurt (I forget what the injury was), but there was no significant production. Playoffs will be good to us.

Can we please not turn this into the Tip Thread? $5.50 is not a bad price for a beer in Canada. Obviously cheaper in a beer store, by the case, but I've seen beer cost more than this in a bar or restaurant. But, what a bunch of cheap bastards! Making the money they do, pulling in 45 people and whining cause they want you to pay for a bottle when you put your grubby lips on it! Oilers management should find out what the eff was going on, and then make the guys go back and pay the bill.

The "intent to blow" rule (I'm not sure the refs fully understand that one), bandwagon fans and Jake Ryan. Now, where's the Festivus Pole?

Ridonculous topic! Allow me to elaborate. Absolutely stupid idea. I'll elaborate on that, as well. Advertising revenue has absolutely nothing to do with the cap. You would still end up with some teams generating all the money (Detroit), and passing it on to suckhole teams (Florida). The cap is there to keep salary levels, teamwise, even across the board. You move more money to other teams, but everybody's income goes up, including players who will want more because the cap is higher. Just my thoughts....

My kids, being loud. Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Jake Ryan. Does he count?

That's funny. I just spent five minutes trying to figure out if that was my nephew, Jeff, in the pic with you. Pretty sure it's not, though.

There wouldn't be a fight. Stuart would take out the hurricane with a nasty open ice body check.

Cool story. I wonder what it's like watching a league with competent referees. Glad to see the guy's going to be okay.

Awesome thread idea. While I've never been big on tracking the numbers myself, the trend portion will make it a worthwile visit. Thanks for taking the time, Drake.

Yeah, I don't remember Bert being labelled as a saviour. Having said that, I think he's worth his one million for the year. He's making his presence known, especially with back to back OT goals. After hitting about a million goal posts so far, it's nice to see them going in. Personally, I'd like to see him play this year, and sign on for another 2-3 years. The unfortunate part is that with his age and back issues, he's not going to be a dominating physical force (as cool as that would be), but he can still push into the corners and battle well enough. Go Bert!!

I got the idea for this thread in another one that was started by a certain troll that's always around. I can't figure out if there are more fans or trolls on LGW. I'm not shocked when a player's lack of production, or even just plain s***ty playing, comes up in a thread here and there, but why do we have all the threads popping up about it specifically? Bertuzzi has never been a superstar player, but we get a Bertuzzi SUCKS thread. Datsyuk, a hockey demi-God, has some issues this year and we get a Datsyuk SUCKS thread. Holmstrom is leading the team in goals so far this year, and there have been several about him. With all the issues this team has faced this year, I'm a little glad they are doing as well as they are. We lost a few key men in the off season, and the injury goblins have visited the Wings a few times this year. Those injuries are not hitting people that wouldn't be noticed, they are the "go to guys" of this team. Ok, end rant. If you are still reading this, feel free to add a positive post showing your support for the greatest NHL team ever. The best there is, the best there ever was, the best there ever will be. Conversely, if you are a troll, have nothing positive to say about the Wings and their players or are a bandwagon/fair weather fan, feel free to piss right the hell off. Cheers!
