Your eyes are dirty not the hit. You are looking at the outcome of the collision and jumping to conclusions. The kid put himself in that situation. He saw the hit coming, turned his back at the last second, and got laid out. Very unfortunate ending to a hit does not mean the hit was dirty. He tried to protect the puck and keep possession, so he's got a good head on his shoulders (no sick joke intended), but he turned his back on a hit that he knew was coming.

Dude, you just lost all credibility with this one. I just watched it again, in case I made a mistake, and I paused the video at the right time. The kid is going down and elbows are still tucked in. Watch it again, and warm up your fork, because it's time to eat crow. Again, I hope the kid is okay.

First of all, I hope the kid will be okay. Second of all, dude saw the train coming...twice! You can't spin like that to turn your back on somebody and not expect to get hit. He wasn't looking where he should have been. The guys elbows were tucked and he had his guy lined up for a check. That's the name of the game here, folks. It sucks the kid went down like that, but I don't see anything deserving of a penalty.

All this and yet no answer to the question. Why did you bring this up? It's a year and a half old. The question was asked, now I'm curious for the answer as well.

Gotta tell ya...Zidlicky was about to get his ass handed to him. Got jerseyed then got owned. I can't stand Crosby, especially when he grows his playoff molestache, but he was going to win that one by a huge margin. The refs did a good job of breaking up the fight at the right time. Zidlicky was in a vulnerable spot, thanks to Sid the f***stick, and that is when they should break it up.

There, fixed it for you. Seriously, though, who gives a rat's ass what Avery or any other hockey player does off ice. It's nobody's business but his. If he, or any other famous person, feels comfortable doing this, why does it matter to anyone else? Judge not, lest ye be judged. I heard that somewhere. People get all up in arms when some celebrity is involved in some kind of scandal. Big fat hairy freakin' deal! I'm willing to bet there are people who post on LGW that have paid to get laid. It's not my business, so I don't care. People think that just because someone is in the spotlight (actors, athletes, singers) they should live a model life. Wrong. They are human, and they do what humans do. That is, stuff other people will think is stupid. Get over it.

It was great to see a whole team play a whole 60 minutes, tonight. Helm, Datsyuk, Zetterberg all looked awesome. Hell, so did Bert, Eaves, Cleary and Stuart. Hope May is okay, that's a s***ty way to get taken out of a game.

Comparisons to any other season are pretty much meaningless. Different players, different staff, different teams they are playing against. There are so many variables that change year to year it is completely impossible to logically compare the different years. Although, maybe Crossed-Arms Guy can come up with some sort of mathematical function to do it. That's the only way I see it being feasible.

Been a fan since '78, when I was, what my grandfather termed "a little whippersnapper". I've seen the good...I've seen the bad...I've seen the "holy s***, this hockey is ugly". I'm not a fair weather fan. I'm a fan. I wouldn't bail just because they're having another s***ty season, I've got too much invested.

I think it was a s***ty showing by the Wings in the shootout. Datsyuk looked like he didn't even give a rat's ass whether he got one through or not. I guess the city of Edmonton will do that to you, though. Edit: spelling

I gotta say, my fanhood (huh?) is not for sale. Being a fan of the Wings isn't something that can be traded away that easily. It's something I feel, you know, deep down. I've been a fan since about 1978 when I first went to a game. I could try, but being a fan of another team isn't something I would feel. It would be more like a job or obligation. Being a Wings fan is a pleasure.

Scuderi was practically sitting on the ice. He was pretty low, so that one to me is questionable. A judgement call. Chimera got f***ed up on the landing, though. Maybe that's why the reaction from the brass. I saw nothing wrong with Ott's hit. Yeah, he was low, but he wasn't down at knee level with his hip.

LOL, that's funny...even though it took me a second! I think Bert looks good out there. He's making his presence known and driving the net. He looked great in Colorado, but couldn't capitalize on it. Just like everyone else on the team, he seems to be working at finding his spot and fitting in, defining his role. I'd like to see him get more physical on the ice, and that may be a combo of the Moore incident and his back problems. I'm looking forward to seeing him rack up some points, and I say he'll get a goal tonight against Vancouver.

It's called speculation. All the negative crap that gets posted here, a lot from you, and you are going to jump on someone putting a positive spin on the season? Get a life. I agree with the OP. Yes, we have a long way to go in terms of making the playoffs. You can also say "We have a long way to go before the playoffs" and mean that there is time to pick up our game and get this ball rolling. That's the way I'm looking at it. If all you have is negative s*** to say, I would be just fine if you kept it to yourself.

Well you should feel like one of the gang in Leamington. I grew up in Harrow, about a half hour west of Leamington, and there were lots of Wings fans there, although I haven't been there for about 14 years, and maybe I was just deluding myself. There were lots of Leafs fans, of course, but I seem to remember a lot of Wings jerseys. I used to work in Leamington too, btw.

I think 20 games is a good spot. I've actually said that in other topics. 9 or 10 games just makes it too wonky for the stats to be followed hardcore. Yes, it's a slow start, I do agree with that. At this point, though, to state that people should be traded/replaced just doesn't work. We've got rookies and new guys and they are all trying to find their spot with their linemates. You can't force chemistry. Either it will come or it won't. Maybe D pairings will change, maybe the forward lines will change, and maybe some people will get traded after all. I just thinks it's too early in the season to call for wholesale changes. Think of it this way: After the first two games of the season, we were winless. That means 100% losses, 0% wins. Holy s***, what do we do? We're winless so far! Oh wait, it's only two games into the season. Even now, we are only 9 games in. I'm saying there is still time. If things don't improve, or people get traded/fired for the betterment of the team, then I'll be one of the first to say that I'm glad for those changes. But I won't put out a call for those changes right now. Maybe later, but not now.
