What you have done, RyanK, is called backpedalling. As I've said before: you asked yourself a question, then answered it with one word. You did all your explaining in later posts. It doesn't matter when you start a thread like this if you don't explain your point at all. Doom and gloom threads are all too common here at LGW, and some fans get agitated by that and will take the OP to task. This is what happened, then you got all defensive because people couldn't, for reasons you don't seem to understand, glean your thoughts and concerns from the word "No". I can see that you've been run up the flagpole a little bit, but to start a thread like this and not expect it, is the height of naivite. Let the thread carry on without defending yourself so vehemently, admit you weren't as eloquent as you would have liked, and see what other people think about the season. Good luck.

I'm not sure if you were reading this right from the start. The original title of the thread was "Will I be surprised if the Wings don't make the Playoffs?". The OP asked himself this question, then the answered it in the original post with the answer "No." That was it. He asked himself a question, then answered. There was no room for discussion or dissent. One question with one answer. Jedi changed the "I" in the title to "You". As I stated in an earlier post, the thread should have been deleted immediately if the title required a change. That being said, the thread has gone from a useless waste of pixels to a semi-normal thread. There has actually been a discussion that has moved on, and that is a good thing. I'm contributing.

I'm always doing the positive thinking thing. I always believe the Red and White will bring the cup home, and this season is no different. I see the first two games, even the first six, as an extension of the pre-season. Players have left cuz they didn't make the cut, lines have changed, and skaters aren't used to playing with each other yet. I still believe that Detroit can take the Cup as well as the President's Trophy this year.

Ok, so Jedi fixed the name of this thread. That tells me that it shouldn't have started, or should have been removed quite quickly. Since that didn't happen, I'll join in. Yes, I would be surprised. People will move around, lines will change and everybody will panic over that. When all is said and done, the Red and White will still be playing come April, and May, and June. Bringing home the Cup may not happen, but I don't believe playoff contention is even a question. ps: I hope this qualifies as a contribution.

You know those players were replaced, right? Every team has movement on it's roster. It's kind of how the league works. "Lose" not "loose". Most of us know that they are capable of losing, but as fans we don't use the first two games as the measuring stick for the outcome of the season. Doomsday threads are all too common here, but you seem to have jumped the gun this time. If you are going to post this kind of drivel, you need to prepare yourself for the backlash.

Oddly enough, I have never done it. The person below me avoids reading the "Doomsday Threads" at LGW.

I had knee surgery two and a half weeks ago, and I've been lounging around...maybe more than I should be. Today is going to be a busy one, and I'm looking forward to it. European ice or North American ice...sooooo....does size matter, I guess?
