Nykwist is about the only one of the kids I can see reaching superstardom with the Wings. He's got some skill and looks like he wants to break out once in a while. Every one else is just coasting.

At first I thought you were asking about destroying their names with stupidity. It's a fair question, though. Kronner would need to play 58 minutes per game for the rest of his career, keeping his +/- at a cozy +83, as well as find that elite partner. While the guy is awesome, he isn't up there so far. The young guns don't seem to have the drive or intensity that is required to become one of the Demi-Gods with their shirts in the rafters. Maybe that's not even accurate, but there something missing from them..

Are you insinuating that Bowman and Yzerman do no currently know the definition of a fourth liner? There are no hard and fast rules regarding fourth liners, let alone third, second, and first liners. Some have a use for them, some do not. If every teams lines were the same, nobody would win and nobody would lose. Some teams could put to use a gritty fourth line, and some teams have an absolute need for one. Some teams don't need one at all. We have four lines getting pushed around by little fellas that got stuffed into lockers in high school, so I think we need one.

I'm always a bit surprised when someone thinks that one person has laid a golden path, rather than walked on one previously laid. Bowman is a superstar, and I don't think anyone is trying to deny it, so we're okay there. Saying he has brought success to the previously suckish in every venue is a stretch. While I am sure that he has helped in some cases, in others there was an opportune and fortunate opening with a team on the rise. If the "Bowman Effect" were a real and quantifiable phenomenon, someone that is getting paid oodles of money would have spotted it, and we would have Bowman back...it is not...they have not...we will not.

Peluso is definitely garbage, but he's getting paid garbage. Garbage also has it's place, though. A tough fourth liner that gets 6 or 7 minutes a night, with other guys in the same role, has only one objective...physical intimidation. That's something we don't have for 30 seconds. I'd be happy with this signing.

I think you read waaaaaay too much into that. I don't think for one second that the kid next door can't be black. At one time where I once lived, the kid next door was actually black. I was cool with that. It was cool with him, too, as a matter of fact. I tend to think the people that see racism where most don't, are either too sensitive, or are just looking for controversy where it doesn't exist.

I think I speak for everyone here when I say that I can't speak for everyone here, but I've still got a bit of man love for Fedorov. That gets more awkward when I remember the tv guys pronouncing his first name "Sir ***". I have no issue with the fact that he went to a lesser team, because as you said, that's the way it is. He was pretty awesome. I just don't think it was enough to retire his number. Had he stayed, it may be different, but only because he would have had more time to warrant a retiring of his number.

I wasn't sure if I was the only one that caught that and I didn't want to be a peckerhead about it, so thank you.
