As much as I hate to agree with you I do. Ozzie doesn't have much time to prove himself to the team and they can't take the risk signing him to another year if he will miss most of the season. His health is a big question mark right now and I don't see him signing with another team for just 1 season, especially as a back up.

Of course, I think we all did at some point. The person below me always tries to use up every last drop of something. To the point of turning the container upside down to get it all.

Why isn't anyone glad that he got out of the hospital in 5 days? That sounds to me like a pretty serious injury with a broken vertebrae. And doesn't everyone recover from a concussion differently? Look at how long it took Lilja, when that fight happened it didn't look that bad. So much negativity surrounding this incident, he was the victim in this and shouldn't be scrutinized about whether he spent an appropriate time in the hospital.

I rather win in regulation but I'd take 1 too.

It could be that Ozzie was feeling good with what he was doing at the time. He can only judge by what he had done and as practices got more intense for him is probably when he realized he's not ready. As much as I hate that he's not able to come back, he's making the right decision for his own health and the sake of team. What if he pushed himself and said he'll be fine and then something happens during an important game? Then everyone ends up losing. I wish he would have had this surgery last season when he was sitting most of it anyway, he would have had longer to recover.

I'm sure this is as frustrating for Osgood as it is for us. I was really hoping he'd be able to come back before the season ends.

This is a good way to work around the cap though. I'm sure Howard will do fine in net tonight and it's better to have him as back up than Ozzie if he's not ready.

Yes I think you're right! Maybe we'll see Ozzie in net for the next game. As CallToArms stated, it's a curse anyway. It's nice to say you finished on top with points, but the doesn't mean anything if you don't make it to the finals. And I'm not saying we won't, but to be if you're booted out of the playoffs in the first or second round, your ranking during the regular season doesn't really mean much...except for record keepers.

That means nothing without the Cup. I'd give up that one for the Cup in a heartbeat. I think the Wings will have a good game, they know that the Canucks are above them and they will hopefully want to make up for the poor start of Monday's game.
