Howard in 2011.... 11-6-2 with 2 no decisions. .858 sv pct and 3.05 gaa. That's pretty damn mediocre, right there. This is before tonight.

Howie has allowed 124 goals this season. If you believe some here, he was at fault for 5? Maybe 6? Personally, its laughable whenever I see "Howie can't be blamed for any of the goals against tonight." Tell me.. Why does Howie play so well in shootouts but absolutely sucks against breakaways? It's a mental issue, and he still isn't ready for the bigs. I pray Holland recognizes it and doesn't re-up Howards contract this year.

Detroit goaltender Jimmy Howard is 4-0, with a 1.47 goals-against average and .949 save percentage, since being pulled midway through a 4-1 loss to Nashville on Feb. 9. I give Howie a hard time pretty often, (mainly because I believe he is NOT the goalie of the future for the Wings but thats neither here nor there) but he has really picked up his play. Hopefully he can keep it rolling.

Something is really screwed up over at NHL.com for the Wings feed. First it took like 5 tries to get the Wings highlights to load at all, and second, the Hawks game showed the WHOLE shootout.

To the shootout. Pittsburgh should have won this in regulation. That 2nd goal against Fleury was BRUTAL.

Hossa misses the net on a chance from the slot on the powerplay, then takes an equalizer penalty. Not a good exchange there.

Leafs powerplay in overtime, still scoreless. 4 on 3 powerplay. Their best chance to win it is now. WHAT A SAVE BY ANDERSON ON KESSEL! Wow! Two huge saves there... Double shutout. On to the shootout. Anderson makes the save on Torontos first attempt. Reimer matches him against Kovalev. Anderson stops Grabovsky. Reimer couldn't stop Spezza. Last gasp for Toronto... Kulemin loses control and Ottawa wins 1-0.
