They weren't diwnplaying the fact that Lids would be the first Euro Captain to win the cup. They were downplaying the difference between North American player and Euro. HUGE difference.

The Pens are being badly outplayed by the Wings in even strength. If this trend continues it will be very difficult for the Pens to win the series on powerplays alone. If the Wings can manage to stay out of the box this will be a lot easier for them.

1-1 After 1. Wings lead 14-9 in Shots, of the Penguins 9 shots, only 3 were even strength.

Weather the storm? The Wings dominated the Pens for the first 15 minutes in game 3. Led 9-1 in shots, and the Pens only shot was on the powerplay. The turnover that caused the first Pens goal seemed to rattle the Wings, and they didn't get their act back together until shortly before Franzens goal. Expect a better effort from the Wings tonight.

Yeah. The "best fans" in the NHL booed Scotty Bowman last night because they only thought of him as a Red Wings coach, and none of them knew he led the Penguins to a Stanley Cup. Great fans, lol.

Great. Now the nation gets to hear Chicago's favorite chant, "Detroit Sucks". If you go over to the Hawks message board you will find people who think that the Hawks could be in the Stanley Cup Final now because they were able to beat Detroit in the season series. I almost linked it back here, but decided against it. It will be fun to see the Wings in an outdoor game. Looks like back-to-back nights for the Red Wings, because the Wings traditionally play on New Years Eve night, too.
