I know Ducks fans are all riled up with the Sharks series... but did they even notice that the biggest factor wasn't Hiller's performance, but Nabokov's no-show? Game 1 - Ducks 17 shots, 2 goals Game 2 - Ducks 26 shots, 3 goals Game 3 - Ducks 30 shots, 3 goals Game 4 - Ducks 26 shots, 4 goals Game 5 - Ducks 25 shots, 2 goals Game 6 - Ducks 33 shots, 4 goals .890 pct If Osgood shows up at all in this series, and if they shut down just Getzlaf alone...I don't know that the Wings have anything to worry about. You know the Ducks are going to have fewer chances in this series... Wings in 5

To all 'nucks fans here on the forum: Good luck. You can play the underdog card all you want, but seriously... you're going to need a sh*t-ton of luck. Luongo's great... and... that's about it.

Add to that Detroit is not the same team Vancouver faced early in the season... come on, it goes both ways. We just obliterated the calder trophy front runner in a series most analysts thought would go to 6 games just due to the regular season scores. Vancouver is doomed, all just a matter of who pulls the trigger.
-
I like our odds either way... Osgood's stats vs. Anaheim are (including playoffs): 18-3-1-2 (4-1-1 since 2006) Stats vs. Vancouver (including playoffs): 20-8-2-4 - no regulation losses in last 6 (4-0-2) That's gotta do something to the other team to know the opposing GT is padding his stats vs. your team.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm excited if this is indeed true. Now if he can work on staying upright...

The problem seems to be mirroring what is happening across the league. Some goaltenders are flourishing with the new rules and others are struggling despite recent strong seasons. For as much as I do not like Turco, he is having an equally bad season despite being strong in '07-'08... even Nabokov is having problems and is relying upon his team to bail him out on many nights. He seems to be getting stronger, but it is obvious that the Sharks are playing better defensively as of late. Not only are the Wings still adjusting to the new faceoff rules, they're also struggling to find a balance after being called for hooks left and right at the beginning of the season... I truly think that defense is having to adjust their game completely based on all the weak calls being made league-wide... I don't know that there is a conspiracy, but a lot of edge has been lost since the Wings were taking 7+ penalties per game at the start of the season. I think the Osgood thing is several different issues... if you have been watching closely, many of the bad goals are dumb luck and bad defensive plays. I think this has led to a lack of confidence on Ozzie's part as he just can't seem to break out of 3 GAA no matter how well he plays in a given game. The mental part is affecting the physical game... and this happened late last season too before the playoffs. I think in some areas he seems stronger and in others weaker... we've seen him make some amazing stops over the past couple games and let in some stinkers. Who doesn't want to shout at the goalie when a goal goes in - it's their job, right? What it comes down to is this - Babcock has been honest when his goalies have been off their game, and he's not sugar coating anything for their benefit. When he says he's liking what he sees regardless of what the score may be you know things are going to be ok. Bottom line is - we aren't the pros here. Ozzie does seem to be off his game, but history shows that he will turn this around. His team appears to believe in him... why not the fans? whether it be bad luck, shot confidence, no drive or bad gear it isn't going unnoticed... just take a deep breath. Life goes on.
-
Definitely something going on from a top level... if Babcock is being vocal about his suspicions you know everything's kinda fishy. I'd love to have a crack at the database of stats in Toronto and figure out just how many penalties have been called (5 on 3 specific) after a team goes down. Even last night when Tampa took several penalties in a row... just seems weird and it has come back to bite the Wings again and again when they're up in a game. I can understand trying to make a game more exciting to watch - but if you start tampering to create excitement it really messes up the fundamentals of the game. Who knows... we'll probably never know for sure.
-
agreed. Nobody wants to win more than the players... they will make up for these implosions. Look at the bright side of things - Ozzie didn't stand on his head but made some great saves... Franzen lit up the lamp first night back... and the Wings played at least 2 solid periods of Red Wings hockey where we saw them outchance the Pens by quite a large margin. It seems like either they are not confident in Ozzie to make the saves or way too confident in their own play as we saw in the 3rd. Penalty kill was too concerned with standing in front of the goal than driving the puck away... I think they need to take more risks there to push the opposition out of their zone... Ozzie plays way better when there aren't 5 guys in front of him. And what's with the Pens' second goal? Was it just me or was his ENTIRE BODY in the crease before the puck came in and hit his skate? Interference? Apparently not... A frustrating game for sure - but this will be ironed out. Remember when Lidstrom was gone end of last season and the Wings couldn't handle it? It only made them stronger for the playoffs. Let's hope this is their rough patch.
-
I think all of this just goes to show the problem with risking it all on Brodeur... Weekes is not ready because he never gets to play... and they can pick up a nomad goalie for the season but they really need to find a franchise replacement for Marty He's not getting any younger - or healthier Godspeed Marty - hope you can come back in time to smash Patty Roy's numbers this season.
-
lol - reminds me of a particular Championship season when everyone was calling for the tandem pull after Ozzie had several bad games in a row with soft goals. "Keep Hasek in net, he's the hall-of-famer that will carry us to the cup!" yeah... pathetic. Every game is apparently the end of the season... did anyone really expect 82-0 and 0 GAA in 2009? Was there not a period of time just a month and a half before the playoffs when Detroit was sucking? Give it a break everyone... it didn't seem to matter to the team last season that almost everyone was doubting their ability to make it to the end. /end thread

We're talking about a guy that has had to adjust from 20 shots per game to 30 - and trying to kill penalties to boot. Bad passing, cluster-f defense in front of the goal... I don't know that I've seen Osgood give up an unscreened goal yet unless you count the bad 'off-the-skate' goals from the last few games and the weird bounce-back against Van. I think goaltending and offense have been good - Osgood stonewalled all the breakaway opportunities to keep them in the game... especially that bad Sammy turnover where he practically passed it to the Ducks for the 1 on 1 with 5 seconds left. Look on the bright side - Detroit has shown that they can rally at every turn... but some crucial players needs to go back to boot camp and start learning to pass better and avoid penalties. If you saw the replays - most of the penalties on the Wings last night were good calls... total lack of discipline. Ozzie made several great diving saves last night - I would give him a break until they start sliding as everyone else has stated. That high-stick goal was absolute BS.
-
I thought he was great - proved himself in the shootout... stuffed both with no problems. 1 of the 3 goals was a lucky bounce off of Lidstrom's skate so you can't blame him for that one... he was following the puck well before the weird redirect. 1 of the others was off a bad penalty...of which there were several... I think the skaters were really sloppy half of the game until they started playing RW hockey in the late 2nd and 3rd... tons of bad passes until they got their act together. Course it's the Kings, so they should have had no problem... still... one of the goals on Osgood was because 3 of the Kings' forwards were allowed right into the crease and got free access to the rebound. This is where we should be glad he doesn't really care about stats if they're winning...

As long as you don't care that the shoulder crests are a little goofy (kinda like stitched on screen printed vinyl), you'll love the jersey. Great quality.

My order said it was in Shanghai for a few days and never updated either. It moved from Shanghai on the 14th to my hands on the 17th via USPS. So once they transfer to USPS for delivery it never gets updated... or didn't in my case.

Just got my jerseys yesterday - making it a 3 week transaction in total. Here's what I got and my impressions... Ovechkin jersey (Home) - like the pictures previously posted, this is a high quality Premier jersey with the tag on front and Reebok vector on the sleeve. Got the fight strap on there, so it makes me think that these jerseys they are selling might be defects from the factory or something - as the Premier jerseys do not have straps. No complaints here... great quality and fit. I got a Large and I usually wear a Medium jersey size. Fits just right. Also has 'A' stitched on front. Thornton jersey (Away) - this one is also a Premier with fight strap. Has the plastic-like shoulder crests and everything else is stitched twill... crest on front looks good. No 'A' stitched on this one - but has no. 19 stitched on front just like it should. Lettering is a bit weird and cramped on the back - but doesn't look bad at all. It's a single color name unlike Ovechkin which is stitched in two layers to give it a nicer raised effect. Has tag on front. Fits like the Ovechkin jersey in Large size, but sleeves are a bit longer. Toews jersey (Home) - This one is more like an EDGE authentic jersey but for the tag on the front and vector on the sleeve. Fabric feels a bit heavier, shoulder crests are sewn on, name stitched on back is on a nameplate... lettering isn't perfect... not cramped but not spot on for what you find on the back of Toews' jersey. Numbers are stitched on with two colors to give that nice raised effect and as an added bonus the 'C' is stitched on the front. Kinda surprising since Toews was just announced Captain within the last few months. This one in Large fits a bit looser than the others - it's a bit large for me but doable - so good if you're into oversized jerseys. Front crest looks fantastic. Briere jersey (Home) - Not sure, but this could be an EDGE authentic. More form-fitting than the others - no front tag or sleeve vector. Like all the others has the fight strap and everything on this one is stitched on... Lettering on 'BRIERE' is a bit odd, but not downright terrible. The stitching gives some letters more of a rounded than square feel. Overall great quality. FYI - I'm about 5'10" 180lb I'm completely satisfied with my purchases - definitely worth the price as I got 4 jerseys for the price of 1 including shipping. Totally love the Ovechkin jersey and very happy with the rest of the bunch. I was not exactly sure what would show up since all the descriptions on the site are different and don't necessarily match what the jersey looks like overall. I might try to post some pictures eventually. If you're wondering why I didn't go for the Wings jersey - I've already got the best one - a Starter no. '30' ;-) Though I will look to buy a 'Z' or Pav jersey once I can find a good deal.
-
I don't think that's true... I got an email reply on the 3rd saying that my jerseys would be shipped "within 3 days" and they were shipped out on the 9th... so basically they're dishonest and/or dumbasses, but at least they shipped it last week. Someone there is working...

FYI - they now have a PremiumHD membership available that is slightly more than the normal membership. These HD feeds (where available) will be broadcast at 640x480 and 900Kbps bit rate... They also have some HockeyStreams Radio program coming up soon and raffles for members... I don't know if anyone else has been watching - but so far the feeds are great and they've covered all the televised pre-season and Europe games. They're even covering the TSN Season preview tonight. I'm curious to see if this rumor has merit (http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=16407)... now the two biggest questions I can think of are: 1. Who would Pittsburgh have to give up for Gabby 2. Is Minnesota thinking top draft next year? What are they thinking? I guess since he's UFA next year they might lose him anyway... still, he's the franchise player and unless they land a Malkin it can't be worth a swap. Any thoughts? edit:link
-
Exactly - here is a good link to distinguish the differences between EDGE authentic and Premier RBK jerseys. Strange that it seems like these jerseys are a combo of the two... and perhaps that's the best way of determining their authenticity. Not like anyone really cares if they are fake based on the end results... still a nice looking jersey for a 1/10th of the price

Dude - thanks for posting these, I'm getting more and more stoked about my purchases. I ordered the AO jersey as well, along with a Thornton jersey, a Briere jersey and Toews. If the others look as good as this one, I'll be a happy camper. I'm hoping for an EDGE replica with the Thornton jersey - it's the only other jersey (aside from the Z/Cheli jersey) on the site that has an EDGE description - and the pic (although a stock pic) doesn't have the *** tag. We'll see. I'll let everyone know as soon as I get them. One other question - I see that the AO jersey has the 'A' stitched on (sweet), but does it have the RBK logo on the sleeve as other Premier jerseys do?

It just shows how poorly their organization is run... It's obvious that he's their star player, but how is he going to be a shining example for all the forwards and d-men? Is he planning on playing out of net more often? Pardon me, but what does Luongo know about the skaters' roles? Is he going to yell from across the ice to motivate his teammates? Maybe they figure that they're backchecking most of the time anyway...

Personally I've only seen 1 feed per game... but it's the preseason, so I don't know how/if this will change Oct. 9th Regarding problems with the feed not playing - I've had this happen before. Just close the window, open a new one and it should work as long as you don't skip around too much in the archive. I think they were having website issues the other day, so hopefully that will be fixed. Watching Rangers vs. SC Bern right now - good feed. On a side note - has anyone else seen that hilarious Center Ice commercial with the Penguins fan? I love how they use all 5 Penguins highlights from the series and don't bother showing the end result with Malkin crying on the ice and Lidstrom lifting the Cup. BTW - Montreal and Detroit tonight @ 7:30 - first good chance to test the feed!!
-
Should email that "billy" dude - he'll probably fix it immediately. My guess - some sort of database error. I was just on today watching Flyers and 'Canes in the archive.

Since the servers are in Europe I would doubt that even the FCC could do anything about shutting down this service... like the pirate stations that operate in international waters... but it's a gamble, that's for sure. They haven't been up for too long from what I can tell. I'll definitely let anyone know if there is any word of shut-down... I'm sure they will have to give a C&D order first if anything is going to happen.

They're streaming all the televised pre-season games, and at one point they had some free games lined up where you could watch the first period before signing up. You might have to contact "billy" on the site to check if they're still doing this. They've had a few streaming issues, but that webmaster "billy" dude is always in the chatrooms and updating people on what work they're doing to improve the streams and enhance the site. It's definitely refreshing to see someone so hands-on in the process. Just a reminder to everyone if you end up liking the service and signing up you could always use this link... if you feel like it http://www.hockeystreams.com/register/torless
