I read an article somewhere online that was saying how after this season the Wings will have a lot of cap space, I am not exactly sure which players contracts are up but they said they will have a lot of room to add new players. My question is do you guys think next summer the Wings will add any priemier players via free agency? And any names set to be free agents after this year. Thoughts?

This is Lidstroms final year of his contract. Does anybody think there is any chance after this season he will retire? I really hope that wouldnt happen but I guess you never no. What do you guys think???

Without Hossa and Samuelson do the wings have enough money to sign a decent foward?

Now that about 2 weeks have passed since game 7 of the cup I am actually looking back and realizing the Wings had a great season. Wanted to see what everyones favorite moment was. Mine has to be Dan Clearys goal in game 7 vs the ducks and beating the ducks in 7 games. This may seem crazy but I think it would of actually been harder for me to get over the Wings losing to the ducks in game 7 then it was to get over them losing to the penguins in 7 games. Also I think the worst playoff moment for me was when the Wings lost game 6 to the ducks and then that ******* neidymyer elbows Dats at the end of the game and the versus broadcaster goes "look at Neidymyers veteran precence giving Datsyuk that elbow." He should have been suspended for that. I was so mad then the one duck starts throwing punches at Rafalski. You guys share your best and worst moments.

I was in 9th grade when the Wings got Chelios and I wasnt sure what to think of it. But he was a warrior and he proved to me he was a great player. Its very sad now that he wont be on the Wings anymore. What makes me more upset is that we didnt win in his last year. Best of luck Chelios!!!!

shoot myself in the ******* head!

Osgood played unbelievable and was by far the best Red Wing tonight. This game could have easily been 5-1 but Ozzy made save after save. Osgood did his best to give the team a chance to win and now Detroit needs to return the favor in game 7. Gotta give Ozzy props for playing a great game and hopefully he can do the same in game 7, go Wings!!

The Wings will win game 5. There is no need to worry, we will be up 3 game to 2 come Sunday.

After the game 4 lost I had this calm feeling sweep over me and I am usually just really pissed whenever the Wings lose, especially come playoff time. I just have this uncanny feeling that they will be fine and are going to win tomorrow night, its just this sixth sense I have now. GO WINGS!!

Going back to Detroit is going to be huge for us. The Wings will not lose 3 in a row, especially at home. We need to actually be able to play a game without allowing a power play goal, which seems more and more unlikely. Give Pittsburgh credit, they played better then us tonight and deserved to win both these games. Detroit needs to come out strong and play a total 60 minutes. We need to be better with the puck and not give up so many pucks that lead to turnovers! GO WINGS, GO!!

Hossa better start eating some wheaties and turn it on next game, or else hes going to play the fool!

I am very happy about the Red Wings being up 2-0 going into Pittsburgh. Yet at the same time I would be a lot more comfortable if Datsyuk will be back for either game 3 or 4. Anyone wanna share their thoughts on when he will be back. You think theres any chance he will be back for game 3?

GO WINGS GO!!!!!!!! Lets win one at the joe!!!!! HELM IS MY HERO!!!!!

Lol, oh damn. I am just so happy, I couldnt sleep all last night worrying about the Wings injuries, to hear this is great!!! Just hope Dats is ready to go. GO WINGS GO!!!!

Red Wings general manager Ken Holland said Thursday that defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom should be ready to play in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals on Saturday. He said the status of Pavel Datsyuk, Jonathan Ericsson and Kris Draper will be determined on game day. Of the three, Draper seems the least likely to be ready for Game 1. Lidstrom, who has missed two games with a lower-body injury, skated on his own the last two days. Datsyuk (bruised foot) skated again on Thursday. Ericsson, who had an appendectomy on Wednesday, might skate Friday. "I certainly expect Lidstrom to play,'' Holland said. "He hold me he's planning on playing Saturday.'' Holland said Datsyuk, who missed the last three games of the Chicago series, is getting better every day. "He wants to know when he makes that push that he has that explosiveness,'' Holland said.

Which of These Players Will be the Next to Score a Goal?
Gnredwing replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
The Wings first goal in game 2 will be by Zetterberg, but Datysuk will have the 2nd! -
722 days ago from tonight the ducks eliminated the Wings 4-3 in game 6 of the western finals, and then to win the cup. How sweet it is to get revenge and elimnate the ducks ironically 4-3 and be the ones sending them home. I still cringe when I think of Lilja turning the puck over and Selanne burying the goal in overtime, but tonights game erased all that anguish and I couldnt be happier! LETS GO WINGS!!!!!
