If you watch the replay of the lebda penalty it seems clear he is faking. I know it is in slow motion, but there is a large delay between the supposed contact and his head flying back. That's not to say that the stick didn't graze him, but it seems obvious he is embellishing. He also seems to be checking for blood at random places, start out kinda checking his nose, then later he is checking his forehead.

I think the High stick penalty against the sharks was BS too. Lebda is totally embellishing.

Two major problems to what you are suggesting. 1. You are assuming that the puck is perfectly horizontal when it goes in the goal. This may be true for one sliding flat on the ice, but not for probably the majority of goals in the league. 2. The magical sensors you talk about might be able to pick up a puck that touches them, but a sensor triggered by metal as you suggest probably isn't going to accurately pick up a puck flying through the air. I tend to think this is something both the NFL and NHL would love to enact, but it's probably a little more difficult to implement than most layman think. Remember either league that implements this is going to want it to be 100% accurate.

OK, here is the charging rule. Charging shall mean the actions of a player who, as a result of distance traveled, shall violently check an opponent in any manner. A "Charge" may be the result of a check into the boards, into the goal frame or in open ice. A minor or major penalty shall be imposed on a player who skates or jumps into, or charges an opponent in any manner. By this rule, leaving your feet is not illegal nor really even matters. Notice it says skates OR jumps into, so a charge is a charge either way. Therefore it isn't the fact that someone leaves their feet that would make a hit a charge, but just the interpretation of a ref of the check being violent and that they traveled a distance to line up the hit. I would guess this is why Cornballer normally gets away with it.

What is the specific rule about leaving your feet. Everyone keeps saying it is illegal, but I have not seen the actual rule they are basing this on.

Why didn't they review the second Pitt goal. I thought when it goes off someone's skate like that they check to make sure it wasn't kicked it. Did they change that rule?

Actually I think you are not giving Pavel enough credit. He continually ad libs stuff like that. I think it sounds much more like reign or writing than english. He already says the word english crystal clear in the previous speech so I don't think that's what he said this time. It also really sounds like he says ___ I S, with the stress on IS. I have a hard time believing that he said rengIS to mean english. He is Russian not Chinese.

Actually now that I think about, I believe they were joking earlier in the evening about getting their championship rings. Maybe he said "my ring is sure now", since he won 2 awards. Tough to tell really. At first I thought he might be saying something about english being short again, but now I am not so sure. He easily and clearly says the words english and short at the end of the first speech, but at the end of the second speech if he said it again he totally butchers it. alas we may never know.

Actually they settled with Ford Motor Company, so they did try to sue them too. BTW have you ever been in a Limo? You ever worn your seatbelt in one?
