It takes away the chance of an offer sheet so it's good. Unless he gets awarded like $3 mill then not so good. But i think tops would be $2.5

Even though San Jose lost Campbell they did improve with Boyle and Blake. Nomatter how old Blake may be. Although they did lose Rivet.

It's funny. On the Vancouver Radio station in question his agent was asked if Gillis made contact to him about Filppula and he said no, but they contacted him about another one of his clients. Then Filppulas agent said something along the lines of "but he should, Filppula would be good in Vancouver"... It's all nothing, really.

lol @ anyone who thinks vancouver would suck enough that we'd even have a chance at tavares. are u guys on the same planet? they missed the playoffs by 2 points after losing their last 6 games in a row. also, tavares isnt the clear #1 pick.

haha, reports indicate that the Canucks are set to make Filppula as over sheet. so not laughing now.

Top 5 pick? Vancouver isnt the Leafs. Theyll probably make the post season next year and at very worst will be around the 10th spot.

Yes i know. But this was just reported 20 mins ago on the radio station. That other thread is just speculation from Sports Illustrated.

Some of you guys are down right silly if you think Tampa got hosed on this deal. They got a 1st, prospect, Carle, and a 4th for Boyle and Lucowich. The prospect is said to be one of their top defensive prospects, Carle will be just as good as Boyle at his age, then a 1st round pick and a 4th.

People are high if they think Filppula wouldn't sign an offer sheet in the $4 million range.

Carle also got 40 points in his rookie season and is very young. He will be a stud in about 5 years.
