I have tried not wearing a visor before, and the I find the difference is very minor. Virtually all the top players in the NHL wear visors; if visors were really the injury causing machines some people are making them sound like and obstructed your vision enough to make you better with no visor then why do we not see a correlation in the stats?
-
Ever since I moved on from minor hockey I've been wearing a visor and I don't see the problem with it. I don't buy this argument that it affects your vision greatly. Took a quick look at the current top 30 in scoring and 27 of them have visors on. Crosby and Datsyuk seem to able to function just fine with them on.

This is a pretty awesome site for people looking for break downs on which Country, Province and State players are from. http://www.quanthockey.com/nhl/nhl-player-origins.php

Being from Victoria BC I thought I would add Team BC to the mix: Lucic, Horcoff, Benn Brouwer, Kane, Recchi Ladd, Morrison, Yip Turris, Niedermayer, Kobasew Weber, Hamhuis Keith, Seabrook Brewer, Georges Mitchell Price LaBabera Fudged Keith a bit in there as he moved to BC when he was 12 or so.

You know the reffings is bad when I'm agreeing with the Anaheim announcers.
-
I would like to see us make a play for Weber. If he is available, i think he is the best short and hopefully long term option.

Could the Earth fall?

What rule is he breaking? Lids and Dats broke the rule they established. Crosby is not breaking that rule. Where is the double standard?
-
Stop saying it's a double standard. You don't understand the rule(i think it's a stupid rule as well). The rule is for people who just skip the all star game and miss no games do to injury. He has been OUT FOR TEN GAMES, and most likely will miss more after. His is not in violation of the rule what so ever.
-
Your not even stating the rule right. They got suspended because they were only skipping the all star game and had no games missed do to injury. Crosby has missed 10 or so, and most likely will not be playing after the game either. I don't like that rule either, but Crosby doesn't even fit the rule.

Red Wings asked NHL not to pick Zetterberg for all star game
nosyt612 replied to Kingston's topic in General
Completely agree with you. A lot of people here are getting all upset about us having only 1 player in the game. We only have 3 all star caliber players this year, Dats is injured and Zets asked not to be in the game. It seems people here are just looking for something to be upset about, would you rather they forced Zets to play? Maybe force Dats as well? -
I think LeBrun has to be right, there is no way the league just missed Zetterberg and put in Kelser, Kane, Sharp and Erricsson ahead of him when those teams were already represented. As for Howard he is 29th in both save percentage and gaa, he shouldn't be in the all star game.

I feel really bad for Mueller, anybody know if he even has a timetable for return from his concussion?

Joey thats not at all what the series is about. It's about the day to day lives of an nhl player, and it was fascinating. They showed about two minutes at the start of the past few seasons setting up where the teams are and what they're trying to accomplish and then it was all about the present. The series is being filmed over a for week period, so all the footage is from right now, they're still filming for next wednesdays episode. I dislike Pittsburg as much as any Red Wing fan, but they didn't force Crosby down your throat and he wasn't even the most featured Penguin (Talbot or Dupuis were). You suggest watching a team like Washington struggle and seeing what it's like behind the scenes isn't fascinating, I thought it was amazing television. Seeing Boudreau possibly fighting for his job and hearing his rants in between periods or during timeouts was amazing access they you don't usually get to see. As for Pittsburg it was all fun and games as it should be when your on a 12 game win streak, but the beauty of this show is that it could all change beacuae it's being filmed as they show it to you. They are on a two game slide right now(which will be in next weeks episode) and if it turns into a 3, 4, or 5 game losing streak we'll be able to see how another team deals with adversity. Other highlights were a couple fights and hearing what goes on before during and after a fight. Also hearing Ovechkin talk to the refs after Semin takes a 5 minute crosschecking major. I thought the show was riveting and to everyone not giving it a chance because you don't like the teams I think your missing out big time.

If you missed it, he talked a little about learning from holland and such and then moved onto mostly stuff about Stamkos and the Lightning. Puck Daddy usually puts these up as a podcast later tonight if you want to have a listen. It was at about the 40 minutes mark.

Didn't read your initial post very carefully. I pretty much agree with your assesment, i don't think Moulson really had that option of protecting himself in this case tho without just letting a Tampa player get the puck. Just tired of all the blame being put on the guy getting creamed into the boards these days.
-
What should have Moulson done differently? Taken a wide route to the puck and come in sideways? Cause someone else would have gotten there first. He didn't turn at the last second, his back was showing the entire time and Riloa laid him out from behind, and jumped as well connecting with the back of his head. If thats not a suspendable offence I don't know what is.

I'm from Victoria and was at the game as well. All the way back to the hotel i was being followed by people yelling Dat-sucks behind me. Took it in good stride, it's been a while since i've seen the boys lose in Vancouver.

Is Howie wearing his new helmet? I got a glimpse of it and thought it looked different but couldn't be sure.

The bad - Ericsson Last night on the hockey night in canada broadcast of the game they kept commenting on how we had our AHL team playing. Then on one of the Toronto goals someone goes right around Ericsson and Houston said something about how that would be tougher on an NHL defensemen. I thought it was pretty funny.
