Hudler's a RFA.

Lowered the shoulder rather that leading and following thru with the stick.

Entertaining article of the players' experiences with fans. I liked Danny's story about the tall Russian guy and Ozzie getting beer on his front porch. Enjoy: http://www.freep.com/article/20090430/SPOR...04300430/?imw=Y

ESPN's Buccigross Det Ana Series Prediction
ManLuv4Clears replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
OMG!!!! He didn't pick the Wings to win 15-0, 16-0, 14-3, and 14-3!!!! Not the best analysis, but wasn't horrible either. Ozzie will have to be good and the defense did look shaky in the regular season, though it had nothing to do with age. -
Is this a serious post?

Good call, you're probably right. Sorry Malts, hopefully it's no relation to the swine flu.

I mentioned in another thread, but I think Drapes is probably fine, his only injury is Darren Helm. Helm's been playing so well centering the 4th line and you know how coaches are, why fix something that isn't broken?
-
Lilja practiced today and Drapes is out games 1 and 2 due to an undisclosed injury. Probably DarrenHelmitus. http://www.freep.com/article/20090430/BLOG...Games+1+&+2

That's why Cleary's my boy. As for Feds, I just wish he could have been a little classier about the whole situation. He handled everything wrong from the start. If he could have done a lot of things differently this thread might not be 9 pages long.

That's a good listing, again I wouldn't have Fedorov up there, but that's neither here nor there and we can agree to disagree. No hard feelings. More than likely 10 years from now there may be a name or two from the current roster that would get consideration into your 7-10 slots. One thing we can't argue is that we are blessed to have this thread with the talent the Wings have had over the years. We could always be discussing whether Bourque was deserving or not.

For some reason it's coming to mind the Lids wanted to go back to Sweden because he wanted to raise his kids in the Swedish culture that he was raised in. I'll look for a link, but if that's fact you can't hate on the guy for that. Good post Opie.

See Reds, you can read all those articles and see that in no way shape or form he was cancerous towards his team .....
-
He's just being sarcastic, it's been an ongoing thing for the last year or so. You should check his post histroy, there's some pretty priceless material in there. On topic, good for Lils, I'd really feal horrible for him if his hockey career was ended by a fight like that. Get well #3.

Gullible probably isn't the right phrase, maybe naive?

Locker room cancer? Don't know, I never said that, and I've never been in the locker room with the Wings to see that. Practice reading comprehension. I absolutely think he qualifies as a cancer to the team as he held out pretty much the entire '97-'98 regular season. He did this because he was more concerned about financial gain than winning, his teammates, and playing the game he loves. Only to sign an offer with Carolina which put management into a situation where they had to match. I wouldn't want someone so self absorbed playing on my line. I wouldn't argue he's a great player, but there's more to getting your number retired than stat sheets.

I'm with GST on this one, rather than repeating anything he said, I'll just address your Ted Lindsay example. I think it is a poor one because Ted played 17 years in the NHL, the first 13 with the Wings, then 3 with the Blackhawks and came back to finish his final year with the Wings. Depending how much longer Sergei plays he will more than likely only played slighty over half of his career with the Wings. That combinded with everything GST said, and 91 being a cancer, I don't seem him deserving his number in the JLA rafters.

Well played sir, caught me in my own rambling.

I think we would all be suprised how little influence Babs has on the decisions on what players to bring up and down from GR. Babs has had comments in the Free Press in the past that would lead one to believe Holland makes those calls and Babs plays with the tools he's been given.

401K FTW, fits the times. Nice one Zion.

WOW Jersey Wing, that's a horrible story. I can't beleive people would resort to that type of s*** on a man and his wife. Kudos to you for helping the poor guy out. I've gone to Lions games in Chicago and Green Bay and for the most part the fans were really cool with the exception of an occasional comment ot two. Packer fans were tailgating and playing beer pong with us, it was great. We did stay low key though, no real trash talking or making asses of ourselves. We there to see the Lions so it's not like we had anything to brag about anyway. Stories like your's make me question the gene pool sometimes.

Kesler and Burrows talking trash about Backes' wife
ManLuv4Clears replied to hillbillywingsfan's topic in General
Exactley, this is a sport for warriors that have played this way all their lives. Anyone who's played the game can attest to this. If people are really that bent out of shape about simple trash talking maybe this sport on ice is more their flavor: -
Kesler and Burrows talking trash about Backes' wife
ManLuv4Clears replied to hillbillywingsfan's topic in General
Let me get this straight. Creative stick-work to ones' johnson is more appropriate than asking how an opposing player's wife is doing while leaving the ice? -
Ha, please don't. I got upended in my rec league game Sunday and am still feeling the after effects; maybe I'm the one getting old. On topic, after that happened, I remember having some choice words for him, I don't think that was perceived as sending a "message," if so I'll just ask him politely next time we play to not do it again. Maybe that will align more with the league's direction.

Hockey Matters for the win..... I'm with you my friend.

Interesting question. If I was put in that scenario and blessed with having the funds for season tickets and merchandise. I don't think I would mind having the label of #2 fan over say.... terminal cancer.
