I mean seven....the second cup of java hasn't kicked in yet ............
-
Anyone else wondering where the competition will come from.......I smell SWEEP in both series, though i would love to see the East got to 8.Maybe Phili can man up for a couple of games @ home...................
-
Knowledgeable Canadian hockey guy. I like the fact that he speaks his mind. I don't like everything he says, but I do respect his game sense......................he's like a god in Canada EH !
-
I agree, I don't see any retaliation on Robiero. I would like to see Ott get his Jaw jacked though. too much @ stake to take majors. The Wings are too disciplined to play into the Stars hand like that.
-
I would be surprised if he misses 2. Would you keep your best scorer idle if and when he is cleared to play. Say he sees the Dr. as you say on Tuesday and is cleared...... wouldn't you fly him out before game 4 ?
-
I think the emotion is still there. The game has changed. The new NHL is targeted to skill players, not goons who exact revnge with fights and grappling play. I too miss some of the pugilistic rivalries, but I love the fast skill laden game now. this is an amazing game of teamwork and unbelievable endurance and conditioning........I like it the way it is now................ where your dedication to skating, stick handling and team work make you the best you can be................
-
Don't get me wrong, I don't hink the Wings will lose if Robiero does or doesn't get suspended. I just don't think the NHL is going to let a blatant slash @ the end of the game go unpunished. If only to send a message that this will not be tolerated I say he gets @ a minimum 1 game..................I could care less if he sits or plays..............He is a non-factor anyway.

The media really pisses me off. He has a headache thats persistent. He has no other symptoms. Usually concussion symptoms are a bit more detailed than just a headache IE: dizzyness, nausea, vertigo, ataxia, memory loss. For all we know it could be another injury or as simple as a sinus infection or undiagnosed upper respiratory infection.....................lets not jump to conclusions. I would be really surprised if he misses more than 1 game. m

I stand corrected 5 minute match, thanks for the info

Yeah and Ozzies chest protector is a par one 1
-
So Robiero, take game 3 off or get momma to start working on some menu planning IE : crow puree, or some cream of dumb ass ! new that Osterizer would eventually come in handy.......................how about a little burger and fry soup with a side of blended apple pie ala toad !
-
As I see it : 1)Ozzie did butt end Robiero, and in my assessment it was not unintentional. 2)The game clock had expired when Robiero two handed Ozzie. 3)I don't see how Ozzie could be injured after that shot to the chest.(maybe a bruise) 4)I think Ozzie deserves an Oscar for his acting job after the slash. 5)An action by Robiero of absolute frustration after having gone down 0 to 2 to a much better team. (maybe an attempt to get his team going for game 3). 6)A ten minute match penalty, meaning a review by the upity ups of the NHL. 7)At least a 1 game suspension, if only to send a message that blatant acts of agression(especially after the game is over) will not be tolerated. IMHO , What a dumb ass move by Robiero. Your team is already down 2 love in the conference finals and you take a baseball swing @ the opposing goalie after the game ? he will be lucky if he does get suspended. otherwise , you can bet that a Red Wing (or 2 or 6) is going to divy out some on-ice justice........The kind that makes you drink through a straw for a month or so............................

Dreamland is a nice place to be, even when you are completely alone !

I've been reading allot about this series and what everyone is saying. What Babs said really hit home. The complaints from Dallas fans about Homer being in the crease, we're tired- yada, yada, yada. Babs said we have allot of things we did well in the first game, but we can also improve on things.....................The way we handed it to Dallas , we can still improve...if this is the case, I am starting to really feel sorry for the Stars. If and when we are hitting on all cylinders this series will be over very quickly.....................I see either a real close one or a blow out for game 2. 4 to 3 we win (franz, pav, huds and cleary). If it's the latter count on O from several of the forwards and a couple D. M

I don't currently live in Detroit, but was a long time resident. I can remember back in the day when The Wings were referred to as "The dead Things". I went to a few games then and it was loud, mostly booing and negativity. Then when we started to win (Yzermania) I would buy tickets just to stand in the aisle(eight dollars) and it was so loud you could hardly catch your breath. I love these morons who can't relate to the everyday fan that works for a living and supports a family and can't afford to go to games on a regular basis. I have allot of family still in the area and times are tough with the loss of jobs and declining auto industry. Maybe if these stuffed shirts lived a day in the life of common people of Motown, they would have a better perspective on reality. Attendence is down relative to the economy. Try going to a game and telling a group of Diehard fans that they ain't s*** ! You'll be picking your head outta your arse for the next week or so................................ We have the best fan base in the world.....Albom and Cherry can bite me !
-
Just to be clear, the 4 to 3 score is based on the fact that The Stars match our intensity, otherwise a blow out could occur..................reminiscent of the last Colorado game !
-
I see this game as much closer. I think the Stars will be more disciplined with less penalties. But . I still think we will win a close one. If the Stars can't match our intensity, like they couldn't in game one , I would predict more of the same with lots of PP opportunities and some goals as a result. I do think Dallas has a pretty good team that given the chance will bounce back and play better. However, if we hit the ice full bore and maintain speed and floor check through out the game, we can't lose ! Hyped for game 2 also ! We take this one and the sails will be devoid of any wind for The opponents. unlike the last 2 series they played, where they stole 2 away games from the Ducks and the Sharkies, the Wings are flying and to bad Dallas, you are the recipient of a Great team playing Great hockey. I see goals by The Mule, Cleary and Huds......I also feel strongly that Hank and Pav are hungry for points..........................I got it 4 to 3 Wings in a close one. m

Yeah , it was a rather long layoff for this time of year. My wife, however, other than knowing that when The Wings lose, I'm not in the best of moods, could give a Rats ass. She is the proverbial "Hockey widow". She being from Virginia and me a product of Motown, it's expected. The sport here is Nascar (Gag) and hunting Deer with dogs. My comment is always "it's a Wings thing, you just wouldn't understand" Not to mention my Va licence plate is " RWHCKY "..........even after I tell them what it means I still get blank looks !

Did all of you actually watch this game. I disagree that the Stars were tired. Even if they were..........to freakin' bad this is playoff Hockey.............. Dallas was outplayed, overworked and lost to a good , disciplined Hockey team. Why do you think Dallas was so penalized, when you can't keep up you commit penalties to prevent easy scoring chances. I have been a fan for long enough to know that Nobody is going to say nice things about the Wings. Everyone loves to hate the best ! I have said it from the start... This is a really good team, and it's going to take more than the Stars to end this run. I can't wait for game two when the tired myth is dispelled. These aren't last years Wings or the year before. This bunch can smell the goal line and Dallas has a very short season left !
-
Bringing up last years loss in the WCS is a moot point. So this happened and that happened , thats Hockey....you win or you lose and what makes great teams great is learning by your mistakes. Perfect example the play after scoring against Nashville this year. the team came together and decided they would not allow quick goals after they scored (enter Ozzie too). Seems to have worked so far..............I like the present ......we need solely to concentrate on The Stars and what we can do to shut them down ! I think we are ready.........I think it won't be nearly as close as some are predicting..................this team knows what it takes to win.......................!!
-
Osgood , quietly, has been a staple for us. He is always so laid back......and gets the job done without to much fanfare. I love to watch him rise to the occasion and stifle the offense of our opponents........................I am so psyched about this series. Depending on who you listen to, most seem to think that Dallas matches up well with us. I beg to differ. The way we are playing, I don't see a team left in the race that can hold a candle ....................I look forward to input this series from the rest of our offensive weapons..IE Huds, Flip, Cleary and all the others who are just waiting to break out. Once this happens........no chance in Hell for the stars............................ I am totally stoked and can't hardly wait for tonight................Like Christmas to a 5 year old
-
I love the skill game of today, but miss the fights and hit's from days of old !
-
Once we solve Turco, the party is over...................No one is going to stop this team this year ! I have said it since the Nashville series. The mission is the cup and WE WILL PREVAIL !! Dallas can't match our skill, determination or speed. Wings in 5.
-
Yeah, just catching up on this thread. I love Malts to play too, but you have to leave those decisions to the one's getting paid to make 'em.................................
-
I think it all depends on how quickly Detroit solves Turco. Look what happened to Teodore last series. He was stellar until getting pummelled by a very effective wings offensive onslaught. Once the first few go in the rest is elemental....................................................................... Wings in 5 !
