Howard is young. If there is ever a time to ride him in his career it's now. And I would certainly say wins have more than very little importance when it comes to judging a goalie. It's not the only thing but when you combine how he has faced the 10th most shots in the league, and has the 5th best GAA, and has played the 4th most games as a goaltender this year, that adds up to a consistent rock solid goalie who can make a big save or two when the team needs it to get the win.

Yea I'm excited for this road trip. I don't think our road record is indicative of how we have played besides for maybe a couple bad losses. With 9 of the next 11 games on the road, we can really turn that record around if we play like we've been.
-
I'm sure it happens all the time especially if you don't live in Detroit and only get one or two chances a year to see them. It's not a big deal if you ask me. I'm sure not many people ask them for autographs on the road so they probably don't mind it.

With a win tonight we will. But let's be real here. It's going to come down to Chicago and Detroit in the end.
-
Now that they lost, We will basically be playing their bench when we do meet up. That game will definitely be winnable and same for the Chargers at home next weekend. I don't like counting chickens before they hatch as well but but our chances at making the playoffs are very very good right now. And obviously I'm kind of kidding about winning the Superbowl, but crazier things have happened.

We are more than in the hunt. That wildcard spot is ours to lose now. All we have to do is win one of our final two games to clinch a spot and that's if the 7-7 teams behind us win out which is probably not going to happen. We basically just stamped our ticket to the playoffs today. An unbelievable finish to the game with Suh blocking the field goal as time expired. If the Cardinals can win a world series, we can win a Superbowl. It's that wildcard magic!

Should be a good game and a W as well. We have to try and keep pace with Chicago as much as possible. Can't let them get too comfortable atop the division.

I love when Pav surprises people with hits. He does it all the time. But Shanny is a bigger boss. This is the top comment right now for this video. Which I thought was hilarious. lol.

12/15 GDT : Red Wings 3 at Predators 4

Not happy about this loss at all. Regardless, I think this is our best team since '09. We look good even when we lose like today. I probably won't say this again and this seems like as random a spot as any to say it but I honestly think this team is in for a cup run. I'm not afraid to say it after a meaningless regular season loss. We look good. Damn good. Howard will be key. -
That's a bummer about Conner as well. He was playing better then I ever expected the past few games and was finally starting to hit his stride. Good thing we are very deep right now.

Vote for Jimmy for today's SportsCenter: Best of the Best

I have noticed a little bit of increased coverage on hockey lately especially with no NBA but that will probably end soon. It was good to see Howards save #1 on the top ten last night. No way it wins Best of the Best though. -
That was an epic ending. Not happy about it even being close towards the end there but a win is a win. Suh better be ready to play next week.
-
Offense is looking unstoppable right now. These past couple games have been the best I've seen Hudler play since '08.
-
Haven't seen a period like that in a while. It's going to be pretty tough to not give up a goal now to be honest. It will be tough to keep the intensity up for another 40 minutes with a 5 goal lead and Phoenix will be playing hard. Hopefully I'm wrong.

This is nice. I like this.

It's all relative man. I'd still trade him today if we would get something better or something that would improve our team. Just like I would trade him when he sucks. But he can stick around for a while I suppose...

Needs less Ericsson... I feel like he is the anti-Lidstrom. Lidstrom at all times appears to be thinking ahead of everyone else. He is a thought quicker then the entire opposing team at most times. Ericsson is a thought slower than everyone else. Besides for the obvious though, I agree it is frustrating to lose to the same teams in the same way over and over. Good thing we are coming home for a couple games because we can't afford to have losing streaks of any kind with how tight the WC is.
-
lol. Hooods will be on the point.
-
Yea because it's not like we haven't seen the same teams the last 5 years... (Phoenix, San Jose, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Anaheim)
-
I personally am very happy with these changes. I couldn't care less about the 7 or 8 teams in our conference. I think we have as good a chance of being in the top 4 in that conference as we do being in the top 8 in the western conference this year or any other. It's also pretty neat to think of the possibility of a Red Wings - Sharks final or something of that sort. The travel will certainly be reduced for both playoffs and regular season and that was pretty much my number one concern as to why I wanted us to move east. Plus we still get to be rivals with Chicago. Seriously? Who gives a s*** what round we play them in if it helps us win a Stanley Cup because we travel less in the first two rounds.
-
That is pure gold. Reminds me of the Canadian royal wedding episode lol. Does he do that for every game?

Wings to host NHL Winter Classic within next 2 years

Yea but we already did that... I doubt they will do the same match up. We would play Pittsburgh in the WC before Chicago. I still don't see why everyone is hating on playing Minnesota. They are actually pretty fun to watch now. It doesn't matter if they weren't the North Stars either, the fans and the city they are from is the same. I'm starting to lean towards having it at the big house though. I think Comerica is a really nice park but 100,000+ hockey fans would be too epic. -
It's too bad Miller isn't playing for them but then again it's not. Let's keep the streak going with another solid defensive game. 3-1 Detroit. Bert, Conner, Lidstrom.

I actually wouldn't mind to see us play the Blues as well. I have a friend who lives down there and is a Blues fan and she would probably come up for the game if that was the case. Oh and I don't know if you have noticed but your signature says Steve Yzerman is the greatest caption. Not captain. lol. -

That was Minnesota in years past. They have clearly made strides in the right direction and I think it would be an exciting game. Plus I would hope they would wear something similar to the North Stars jersey which would be neat to see. I agree though, I would love to see a Wings-Leafs match up but I don't see it happening. If we move east, we will play them plenty soon enough. They aren't worried about selling out. It all has to do with TV ratings.
