What I hate most about this whole debacle is you have fans of the same ******* hockey team going at each other's throats over what.....some stupid exhibition game? This is no different than an All-Star Game for cryin' out loud. Sad.

Why do you think people's tiring of your BS is indicative of people being "jealous" or "scared" of the Canadian team? Ever think it's you and not the hockey team?

Maybe you should learn not to be rude. Sweden IS competitive, they are comprised of almost 95% NHL players. The fact they got beat by a team that was not is not a sign of competitiveness, but rather a sign that on any given day, a team can lose that should have won and vice versa. Again I ask you, what does that have to do with my overall point? There are very few teams that can field almost all NHL players. The fact that ALL teams are not afforded that is a sign that there is no parity in Olympic men's ice hockey and it should go back to amateurs-only.

No, I've felt that way for a while. I thought it was cute and a novelty, but if other sports have to adhere to the "amateurs-only" rule, then men's ice hockey should as well. It has nothing to do with *this* Olympics cycle. However you'd have to be completely blind to think that aside from the US, Canada, Russia, Sweden and maybe the Czech Republic.....there IS no competition. Part of what made the "Miracle On Ice" so miraculous was the fact that a bunch of wet-behind-the-ears college kids beat the Soviet Red Army team, which were essentially paid players much like today's NHL'ers. Amateurs beat professionals. It should go back to amateurs-only.

There isn't any, which is why I'm hoping the Olympics goes back to amateurs only.

Seriously, IMO there's not one person on that team (if you don't count Babs and Steve) that I think are people worth rooting for. I can't stand any of them. They're all players I despise when the Wings have to play them.

I hope your crystal ball is broken. Ordinarily I'm all for the home team winning some golds because it's fun to see the fans go crazy, but there's no one on that team with any redeeming qualities.

I want the US to win and I want Slovakia to win. I actually want to see Crosby and Co. crying their eyes out.

Imagine if he or any other hockey analyst/commentator had made a derogatory comment about Canadian hockey or American hockey. His ass would get canned so fast, the sentence wouldn't be finished before it came out of his mouth. Whatever Milbury thinks about Russian hockey, he's free to think it. However, there's a time and a place for everything and the Olympics is neither that time nor that place.
