Let me help you. Some Red Wings fans are complete assholes, just like all hockey teams have some fans that are complete assholes. We're not exempt. The Preds fans who booed Hank are some of those said assholes, but that doesn't mean every single Preds fan is a knuckle-dragging hillbilly. The sun doesn't shine out of the crack of our asses. Some of you are starting to sound like everything you hate about Yankees/Lakers/Patriots fans.

My best friend and her husband live outside Nashville and are Preds fans; they aren't stupid, they aren't hicks, they don't live in trailers, and they thought Weber should have been suspended. Not all Red Wings fans are winners, you know. Some of you tend to forget that.

It sucks, but what's done is done. Let's concentrate on winning Game 2, so we can avoid looking like ass. Zetterberg wasn't injured, he wasn't bleeding, he's playing tonight....it could have been far worse. Weber should have been suspended, but he wasn't. I'd be far angrier if Hank had to be carried off the ice on a stretcher unconscious and the same punishment was meted out.

Thank you Tigers! I always enjoy it when I can count on other teams to bring me a small bit of joy, when I otherwise cannot find any. The Yankees may be sucking to start the season, but watching the Red Sox pick up right where they left off.....brings tears of happiness to my eyes.

I can understand being frustrated with fans like that, you find them in all fandoms, for all teams, in all sports. It's annoying. I don't like them anymore than anyone else here does. I don't do the uber-uber-negativity, mostly because it's fruitless and I don't want to read it from other people, so I don't want said people to read it from me. That said, I don't think I have the authority and/or the gravitas to go around saying so-and-so is not a fan because I said so and here's why. I think that's just as silly and ridiculous as the naysayer/doom-and-gloom posters who think the Red Wings will never win another game until the Mayan Apocalypse.

Maybe because in their honest opinion, they don't think we can beat Nashville. It's okay to think that, and it doesn't make them an un-fan. Obviously if we end up beating the Preds, they'll have crow to eat, but that's on them then. If we don't win, I don't think they'll be going around saying, "Haha, told you so!" Sometimes being a fan means being able to view things without the homer shades. The Red Wings aren't perfect, they have faults, and they f*** up from time to time. Acknowledging that is okay. I don't understand why the "in" thing to do around here is go around questioning why other are people are fans, or outright declaring that someone isn't. Seems like a colossal waste of time.
