Yeah well when the choice is missing Pavs' interview and hearing commentators speak in a language you don't understand, or watching a feed in English that also includes Sidney Crosby's ugly face.....I'll go with the language I can't understand.

But he's not over-exposed in the least bit.

The feed I'm watching is the Slovakian feed I think, so I missed that.

My sister is a 22 year old kid and pretty damn awesome, but I don't think the whole world needs to see her face all the time. There's plenty of great young hockey players out there; Canadian, American, Russian, Swedish....the list goes on. Why aren't THEY getting the coverage that he is? Is it the language barrier? Does he have dreamy eyes? It's obnoxious the way the media fellates him at the expense of nearly everyone else currently playing. You could be watching a game between San Jose and Atlanta and they will somehow work a Sidney Crosby spot into it. Guarantee. It's overkill. Is he good? Yes. Is he the next Gretzky? Why don't we wait about 20 years and then answer that. It's like Red Sox fans who think Jonathon Papelbon is the next Mariano Rivera. Keep dreaming.

Rooting for Russia here. Here's hoping Pavs has a big night.

I've actually stopped watching over-the-air TV for the Olympics and am watching it online. I did the same thing in 2008 during the Summer Games, with the exception of Michael Phelps' races. Those I watched on TV. I mean, if you're going to screw everyone over like this, I'm going to screw you back by not patronizing your product. I've found that the Canadian stations are giving outstanding coverage, especially for the hockey.

You're missing something here, I think. I didn't say curling wasn't a sport or that it shouldn't be one or that it was less of a sport. I was asking WHY it was one, as I don't get the appeal. I'm clearly aware that curling HAS appeal, because watching it on TV today there were a lot of people there cheering their asses off. I don't think they were there because the venue has great concessions, although you never know.

Why is curling even a sport and what is the appeal of it? Okay so you have this dude (or lady) push a big-ass rock with a handle down a sheet of ice and then two dudes (or ladies) take turns vigorously scrubbing the ice with brooms that look like they were found at Chernobyl and the apparent objective is to get said stone in a big-ass circle and knock other big-ass stones out of the big-ass circle. Oh wow, how utterly captivating.

I was initially reticent when the NHL first allowed their players to compete in the Olympics because I felt it should be for amateur athletes only. However when you see how much fun the players have, and how great the hockey is, you realize it's a smart move and a great way to expand the NHL's brand. Why Gary doesn't see this is beyond me. The schedules can be worked out so that players who have the opportunity to play in the later rounds aren't essentially penalized by not having at least a day to recoup before rejoining the team and starting the season back up again. All this CAN be done, I don't see why there's a need to debate it.
