This is truly an epically embarrassing POV. My parents have been married 38 years, have two children, a dog and two cats and neither of them are "expired" or have nothing else to care about besides us. My dad is one of the biggest sports fans I know and my mom is sort of our subdivision's go-to person for bake sales. They have very rich and full lives and guess what? They're both 60! According to you, my sister and I should have buried them by now. For the sake of all people who may ever come into contact with you in real life.......please grow up.

So getting married, having children and a dog equals having given up on everything? What a lonely, sad person you are.

30 years old is halfway to the grave? What year is this, 1510?
-
I don't really care who wins.

Brandon Dubinsky calling Sidney Crosby a little baby

I understand that sports = life to some people and that's fine. Life is whatever you want it to be. I just can't do that myself. For example, a few years ago the Red Wings were in Atlanta playing the Thrashers and my friend had tickets and wanted to know if I'd come with. They were quite close to the Wings bench and would have been the closest I've ever sat for a game. However I had promised my sister we'd go out and have dinner and "girl talk" since we hadn't done that in a while. So I opted to spend time with my sister. Sure other people would have said "screw dinner" but I've only got one sister. Like I said, that's just me.

I don't allow sports to affect my life to the point that I become physically aggressive/despondent when we lose. I'm sorry, I just can't do that. When the Wings lose it sucks, and I get pissy for maybe.....an hour. Two hours if it's a playoff loss, three hours if it's a series-ending loss. But I don't attack people or become belligerent with them. I get over it, because it's just sports and life goes on. When we lost the Cup finals last year it was REAL s***ty but my dad had a cancerous tumor on his kidney so I had other, much more important things to focus on rather than a hockey game that didn't end the way I wanted it to. Doesn't mean I don't love the Red Wings or that I'm not a "real" fan, just that I keep sports in its proper perspective.

LOL. Truth hurts, huh? Love it. Way to go Dubinsky. -
Another shootout loss? God, I hope not. This s*** is getting old.
-
It's just hockey. We all love the Wings no doubt, but you shouldn't get that worked up about it.

Wings fan -- Started out initially to annoy my dad, who is a die-hard Blackhawks fan. Yankees fan -- Best friend in school was from New York, went to a few White Sox/Yankees games with her and her parents and got sucked in. Been a fan of both teams for a little over 15 years now.
-
Yes. I just don't know when. There are times during games when it looks like we have our s*** together and are getting something going and then 30 seconds later it all falls to hell. I'm hoping the Olympic break will provide the guys with a much-needed breather and opportunity to re-assess where they're all at.

I don't want to watch another team win the Stanley Cup if we're not one of the teams trying to beat them. I don't know....I'm the same way with baseball. If the Yankees don't make the playoffs or are bounced out before the WS, I don't watch. It's like.....I don't want to watch some other team win something I wanted my team to win. The playoffs are the only time of year for either sport where I put the team before the sport as a whole. During the regular season, I watch as many games as I can, regardless of who is playing.
-
I don't watch the playoffs when/if we're eliminated, so if we don't make them this year, I won't be watching. I'm a Red Wings fan first, so if we're not playing.....I don't really care what everyone else is doing. Regular season games are different -- if the Wings aren't playing or our game ended early, I'll watch another game if it's on. But once the playoffs come, it's Detroit or nothing.

Hey, he already had it. Not like I'd own something like that.
-
I distracted him with a picture of Crosby in a speedo.
-
Okay this I can get behind.
-
Don't break it, though. It's on loan.
-
I cannot express clearly enough just how much I loathe shootouts and our participation in them.
-
Actually, what was awful was the fact we had a 4-on-3 PP in OT and blew it.
-
Aren't we so great in shootouts?! We could have scored 7 unanswered goals to tie the game, if we get into a shootout, my confidence level in this team dips below the barometer on the Titanic. It's pathetic.
-
It's aggravating, isn't it? I mean, do they need an invitation to score or something? Perhaps something with gold leaf and calligraphy.
-
Anyone feeling confident here? I'm not. Shootouts are kryptonite to us.
-
Another shootout? Eff me.
-
Someone do something that prevents a shootout.
