I missed this game because of the baseball game, but I wasn't expecting to see the Wings lose. Again. This record is broken and it's getting old, guys.

How about a 2-game winning streak?

I cannot remember the last time I read mindfly say anything positive about a Red Wing player, coach or game. We could win 14-0 and Datsyuk could score all 14 goals, and he'd ***** that Holmstrom didn't do anything or __________ didn't either. How can one person be so damn negative all the time. We won the game. That's great! We're supposed to win more games than we lose.

Well, I have to get up early in the morning and these west-coast games are just not conducive to that. Here's hoping we kick some ass and win this game.

Howard has been impressing me of late. Maybe someone clued him in to the fact he needed to shape up or ship out.

Gee, we're losing. Quel suprise. I am confident however, that we'll get those goals back. Whether or not our defense/goaltending doesn't allow them to score any more is another question.

I really don't care what nationality we have more/less of or what style of play that entails, I just want a quality product on the ice every night. I think some fans get too hung up on the North American vs. European argument. We've been successful using both ideologies, so does it really matter at this point anymore?

I watch plenty of TV. However none of the TV I watch would be discussing that. I don't watch ESPN or any of its subsidiary networks anymore, so unless MLB Network was suddenly going to talk about the Lakers, I'd have no way of knowing what they did or did not do. I follow baseball and hockey, that's it. Unless what I'm watching sports-wise talks about either of those sports, I'm not interested.

Hockey: Steve Yzerman Baseball: Don Mattingly Football: none, I don't watch it Basketball: I grew up in Chicago, so who do you think? Once Jordan left the Bulls, I stopped watching the sport. I couldn't even tell you who won the NBA Finals this season.

Listening to some of the people in this thread talk, you're one step removed from eating your own poop and killing animals with sticks in your backyard for food. Good grief, it's high-def vs. standard def, not living in a house vs. living in a cardboard box.

Some of you slay me. Devellano is being realistic. I like realism. While I love optimism too and don't always feel pessimism is productive, sometimes looking at the situation and being objective about it is the right thing to do. Realism isn't always negative. It just is. And the truth is, the team lost a lot over the off-season. We are nowhere near the team that won in '08 or the team that went to the Cup finals just this past June. If those teams were at a 9 and 7 respectively, we're at a 4 or 5 right now. I think we will make the playoffs this year again and be competitive, but the time will come when we won't and what are we going to do here when that happens? Piss and moan all day? What he's saying is that we should realize the good times don't last forever and for every peak, there is a valley. It's not like he came out and said "We suck, f*** the season, burn the place to the ground and collect the insurance."

My favorite thing about the MLB playoffs are all the people who hate the Yankees so much, they'll root for other teams they hate or don't know much about just to say they're rooting against the Yankees. God damn it makes me giggle.

Obviously if we play like this all year we're not making the playoffs. However I don't believe we're going to play like this for a full 82-game season. It's bad now and people are rightfully upset but to outright say we're definitely NOT making the playoffs when 90% of the season is yet to be played....I don't see how someone can make that prediction and solid with it.

I never said people couldn't vent. I'm pissed off too. I just see a difference in saying the team is in trouble and we need to work on it fast and saying that we're not making the playoffs, everyone sucks and the season's over. My comment was directed at those people, not the posters who can criticize the team but be reasonable about it at the same time.

Nope, I listen to the games online. That's just money that can be saved and spent on something else.

Every loss needs a scapegoat. Forget the fact our offense is inept and our defense is slow.....no, we must blame Jimmy Howard. I'm waiting for Babcock to be next.
