Ozzie is sadly, the kind of player that will never get the kind of respect he deserves until he's dead. Once he's gone (and let's all pray that it's 60 years from now or later), suddenly everyone will be climbing all over themselves to talk about how great he was, how important he was and how integral he was to the Wings winning. Which absolutely sucks.

I like Pat Foley, actually. Living in Chicago, whenever the Wings would play the Hawks that is how I'd follow the game before the advent of the internet and streaming video. Hell, even before I had my own computer, that's how I'd do it. Sometimes on a clear night you could pick up Detroit's station and listen to Ken and Paul, but that was rare. I remember listening to them after we won in '97......happy birthday to me. Anywhoozles, I have listened to a lot of different sportscasts where local announcers are doing national games and about 99% of the time they get that it's national and turn the homerisms off. I don't have a problem with a Hawks announcer doing any national telecasts of these games because I have the option of not listening to them. I go to 97.1's website and listen to Ken and Paul. Then I don't care if the Cookie Monster is calling the game on TV.

Well, when you call them "homer" and "biased", that means they've done or said something to elicit that response from you. I was curious to know what it was that they did to make you think they were incapable of calling a good game.

In what way are the announcers biased against the Wings? Did any of them say "HIT ZETTERBERG!! LIDSTROM SUCKS!! TRADE OZZIE!" or anything else of the like? Did they boo when the Wings scored? Too much time. Not enough thought.

Well, at least it cut down on the number of "ZOMG THE REFS HATE US!!!111!!" threads that usually pop up afterwards.

Joe Buck is usually one-half of the tandem that calls baseball games on FOX, the other being Tim McCarver. Now, Joe Buck also calls Cardinals games, seeing as he's the son of Jack Buck....legendary Cardinals announcer. I don't think he's biased, I think he's horrible. That being said, calling games for a local team and being asked to do national broadcasts isn't a conflict of interest unless you choose to make it one. You all are looking for s*** that is not there.

We're not already in good shape? I wasn't aware this team was inches from elimination.

I'm not worried about any of them unless it comes out they're injured. We can clearly win and do very well without them at the moment, so until it becomes a matter of Pavs scoring or else.....I'm enjoying the ride.
