I started watching the team when they couldn't buy a win with someone else's money. We're talking pre-Bowman. So I've seen s***ty Wings teams, winning Wings teams, physical Wings teams and finesse Wings teams. Physical vs. Finesse doesn't mean good vs. bad. Both styles of play won us championships.

I've been out of school for 3 1/2 years now, so I don't miss this. Sorry girl, I'm sure you'll find a way to follow the game. Where there's a Winged Wheel, there's a way.

Eliminating fighting altogether would destroy what little entertainment value the game has to people who aren't already die-hard fans. We watch the Wings because of the little things, the same as people watch their team for the little things. For people who don't have a team, the physicality is what draws them in. Getting rid of it would be getting rid of their reason to watch and it would just sink the sport even further down. I agree that fighting after face-offs should be curbed, but fighting shouldn't be eliminated in toto.

We're not boring. Fans bitching about how we are because we don't fight all the time however, are.

We're playing at the Joe tonight. Although if Wings fans out in AZ want to throw s*** on Jobing.com Arena's ice, they're more than able to.

Osgood is not the problem, the team is the problem. You win or lose based on what the TEAM does, not one person. The first two goals were s***ty tip-ins that a proper defense would have prevented from getting anywhere near the net. If the defense does its job, the floodgates don't open. Would Ozzie have let in more goals after that? Who knows, but what I do know is that maybe the damage wouldn't have been anywhere as bad. We were sluggish, lazy, and giving the puck up every 5 seconds and could barely get the puck in net until the last half of the last period. You can't win s*** with play like that, regardless of what the goalie is doing. You want the honest truth, I think the majority of criticism levied against Osgood this season is by people too afraid to admit that the whole team is a problem right now and they'd rather dump on a convenient target. This is not me saying Ozzie deserves no blame. This is me saying that spreading the blame around is a far more honest portrayal of our season thus far. If Scotty was coaching this team, they'd be running suicides 'til they puked and he would have ripped them all new assholes about 5 times over. However, that was Bowman's coaching style. Babs is different. That doesn't make what he does worse or less effective. We have a team mostly comprised of veteran players and while maybe they need to hear the truth every now and again, screaming at them won't make them play better or make them see that they need to play better. That drill sergeant s*** might work on rookies, but it won't work on Nick Lidstrom, I'd be willing to wager. The vets are probably far more worse on themselves than Babcock could or would ever be.

Boy, this thread became a slow train ride to hell in hurry. 300 wins is an accomplishment, even if Ozzie isn't playing up to par this season. If you can't bring yourself to say even a minute complimentary thing about him regarding the topic of the thread, keep your opinion to yourself or start an "Ozzie sucks donkey dick" thread and bash away there. This garbage is becoming too much. Too frickin' much. Ozzie could cure AIDS and some numbnut here would whine that he left his 5-hole open at the time and Giggy would have done it faster.

Granted I came in at the tail end of the season, but what I saw from that point forward pretty much validates what you just said. I don't understand the mindset of some people; it's like they're never happy. I can completely understand people venting about last night's game because it was effing atrocious. However we only get super-high GDT page counts when we're getting blown out. It's almost like more people feel like stopping by to harangue the team for doing this that and the other wrong, than come by when we're blowing the other team out and applaud them for doing this that and the other right. It's baffling.

To hell with that, bring back Probert and coke him up again. BTW, every time I read threads like this I think about that one thread where people were bitching that there aren't enough North Americans on the team and they don't watch the Wings as much because they can't identify with the players or pronounce their names. I think we should dump everyone save Nick, Hank and Pavs and sign players from Iceland. Or pick a country whose language is virtually unpronounceable to someone not from that country. One, I'd love to see Mick try and say them. Two, I want to see those fans whining and weeping that our team is too finesse and not physical enough. Their pain nourishes me.

I do know the phrase, TYVM. However my spellchecker in Firefox automatically changed it since for some reason it didn't recognize it as a word. I have since added the word to the dictionary so that God forbid this happens again, my browser won't go stupid on me.

Your positivity and optimism are refreshing. Tell me again, what team do you root for? Because to be frank, you always post more when we lose than when we win. And when we win, you always find something to ***** about. Why don't you go be offensive to another group of people that post on this board.....maybe you can pick on Canadians this time instead of women.

The Norris Trophy, last I checked was an individual award. Nick has won in years where we didn't do squat in the playoffs.
