Okay, say the Wings do that. Ozzie is no more (he was taken out back and shot at dawn). Who's our starting goalie now? Conklin? If he's the starter, who is our back-up? If something happens to Conklin.....would the back-up be capable of [by then] shouldering the team through the playoffs?

Okay, I was summoned to this thread to try and beat back the sharks, so here goes nothing: Is Ozzie playing poorly right now? Yes. Is he playing quite poorly? Yes. Do we like that? No. Does that mean he should be disembowled with a wooden cooking spoon and left to die and decay in the sun while Ty Conklin's body is foisted upon our shoulders and marched out to glory? No. Look, go ahead and say I'm sucking Ozzie's nuts or I don't care about whether the team wins or not because I'll just defend him anyway....I don't really care. Some of you have your minds made up that he's worthless s*** and should be jettisoned like waste from a 747, so nothing I or anyone else who gives a s*** about the guy say can change your minds. He's not playing well, we know that. We all want him to do better because this team is stronger with two great goalies as opposed to one. I'm not convinced he'll be playing like s*** come playoff time and I am sure that whatever slide he's on, he'll work himself out of. So continue to cackle, hens. It's been entertaining.

I don't get it either. We are going through a slide right now and no one is happy about that (clearly), but if people want to get all angsty and vent, so be it.

Don't speak for everyone, please. I don't care what "type" of team is on the ice, as long as they win. Blue collar, finesse, all European, all American, all Venutian.....don't care. I watch the Wings to see great hockey played by great players who want to be here. How many guys have taken pay cuts or had their contracts structured in such a way that they'd be here for the duration of their careers and the team STILL has money under the cap? We treat them right, they treat us right by wearing the winged wheel until they hang it up. That kind of loyalty transcends whether they're "blue collar" or "finesse". If Steve Yzerman's retirement caused you to no longer go to games or watch them, you were only watching for Steve Yzerman and not for the whole team. Because that is just a dumbass reason to quit watching the Wings. "Oh Steve retired? f*** 'em, I'm done." Do you know how stupid that person sounds?

I don't give a rat's ass if there are 25 Americans on the team or no Americans on the team. I don't feel like my hockey-watching experience is cheapened if none of the guys are from my neck of the woods. I also don't feel like I have problems relating to them.....they're highly-paid athletes who live hundreds of miles from me. I don't relate to any of them, no matter what part of the Earth they come from. If you can't watch the team anymore because there are too many guys who have umlauts in their names, something is seriously wrong with you.

They hate us because we're beautiful. Oh wait, that was the Breck commercial. Nevermind. They hate us because we win and win a lot. And have players that take pay cuts to stay with the team as long as possible. And have a great coaching and front office staff.
