I can't fathom how hard it was for him to completely re-do his whole style of play. To go from one kind of goalie to another in a short period of time, and to do so and then win the Stanley Cup......amazing.

I'd eat a giant bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch out of it. Then I would drive to Sidney Crosby's house and ask if he wanted to touch it. When he went to grab it, I would yell "SIKE!" and drive away. Then I would fill it with champagne and do one of those Dita Von Teese burlesque shows out of it, charging $10 for admission and giving all the proceeds to Detroit-area charities.

You know, I don't think this incident will prevent people from watching hockey or somehow derail the league's attempts to bring in viewers. It was a simple typographical error that is being blown completely out of proportion.

Look, I'm not saying it's a good thing. It was dumb, someone should have spotted it. Everyone who gives a damn about hockey and Red Wings hockey knows how his name is spelled. Carson Daly misspoke his name last night, where is the thread saying he doesn't have pride in what he does? I hope he had a good laugh about it, if he was ever clued in about it. I should hope he wouldn't take himself so seriously that a silly mistake like that would anger him.

That was me. But I don't think anyone here is discounting what Steve did for this team nor has anyone forgotten what he's done with this team. Is he so saintly that no one can debate whether or not someone was better? I don't think anyone here has at any time tried to say that Steve was a sub-par hockey player. -
Do we know that the NHL was specifically responsible for the making of the jersey? There's a lot of things that make the league look bad, this is hardly one of them.

This really isn't something to get angry about, though. It's a simple typographical error and some of you are making it sound like his family name was insulted. It was lame yes, but people are making it out to be far more destructive and horrifying than it actually is.

Okay, if Nick comes forward and says he was gravely insulted, I'll go ahead and jump on the "annoyed" bandwagon. You know how many times my last name has been misspelled by people who absolutely SHOULD know how to spell it? I had to send my H.S. diploma back because they spelled my name wrong. And you know what? No one I knew was offended or thought I should have been too. It happens. It's a printing error, not a conspiracy to defile the man's good name and character.

Why don't you all getting hopped up over this take a deep breath and relax. It doesn't take away from anything Nick or the Red Wings have accomplished, so it's hardly something of monumental insult. It's an extra letter, it's not like they introduced him by someone else's name or dropped the trophy on his foot or called his mom a name.

Nick was also the first European to win the Norris Trophy, so that's another notch on his belt.

Well, that's what happens when someone like Nick Lidstrom is playing hockey. You just have to wait your turn.......if it ever comes up. If not, you have the ability to say you were a contemporary of someone of his caliber, which is a lot.

Why would he be pissed off? Everyone knows that trophy belongs to Nick. Being upset about it just makes you look silly.

Nick winning the Norris is like someone asking if the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. It's just common knowledge at this point. Just re-name the damn thing after him and get it over with.
