Damnit, I woke up late and rushed to the computer to add my picks. Stupid password recovery took me like 5 minutes and made me miss the first three games and they havent even started yet

Awesome, too bad it's not at the Joe. The Atmosphere of the Joe is just fun for me. I recommend getting their early, so you can get your drink on in advance. I don't know how the fans are in Atlanta, but I've been to four other arena's, and wearing a Wings Jersey always causes at least a little friction. I still do it every time I go to a game out of state though
Well, I'm 20 so all my pre-drinking will be before I get to the stadium >_>. Or I wonder what would happen if I just showed them my Mexican ID that has no indication of a date of birth besides a seemingly random sequence of numbers. And as for it not being at the joe, well yeah I'd rather it be there but I have an aunt that lives in atlanta so I came to visit her for a week with the whole trip planned around the game lol
this will be my first NHL game.
High five! It was also gonna be my first but I got here on Thursday night and bought some 10 dollar tickets for the Caps game on friday and the isles on sunday. I'll probably get a ticket for the canadiens on friday as well as I leave on saturday.

yup first ever red wings game I'm going to be attending (hell my first ever NHL game was last friday lol). After religiously following them and watching just about every game that I could for the past 10 years and being a fan since I was 6 it's finally time.

I would have loved for the team to recall maltby instead of Janik for the game tonight, and right after the game hold the presser to announce the retirement. Give the guy onw last game and a proper farewell.
It's kinda weird that only Draper, Holmstrom and Lidstrom remain as the wings that have been here since the 97 cup.

That's pretty awesome that the first time you visit the US you'll get a chance to see the Wings.
A similar story is going to happen to me. I'm originally from Mexico, but right now I'm iin college in a border town in New Mexico. I have an aunt that lives in atlanta and pays for my cell phone and occasionally gives me money. So I've been really wanting to go visit here because of how cool she is. So we were talking on the phone and then she started nagging me about going to see her, and I tell her I really do want to, and I can do it in December when I'm done with the college semester. Go to see the thrashers schedule to see which games I could catch while there.
So I'm looking on the December dates and out of the corner of my eye I see "Detroit" a little bit above. I started thinking how it sucked that they would be there like two weeks before I was. And then it hit me. I started getting overly excited and jumping up and down in my seat. I usually have thanksgiving break two weeks before the semester finishes. i quickly went to my school's site to check dates and true enough, I have that whole week off of when the Wings are in Atlanta.
So i called my aunt and told her I'd go visit in November instead. It'll also be my first ever NHL game and for it to be a Wings game is just awesome after following them very closely since they first won the cup in 1997.

From a defensive standpoint, I think it needs to be done. Howard was solid in the regular season, but I think his inexperience going for the Cup has gotten to him. He over-commits on first moves and leaves the opposition a wide open net. Osgood is, like you said, a proven winner, and was clutch during our last two runs to the Cup Finals. I think now is the time to let Ozzie play; he was put into the thick of the action in 2008 when we needed him, and lo, and behold, we won the Stanley Cup.
The defense as a whole must improve, but we need a stronger man between the pipes.
The regular season ozzie of 08 isn't the same as this season ozzie. I really do like Osgood and all, but I wouldn't feel comfortable putting him in just because of how few games he's played, not even having anything to do with his ability.

The thought that I was planning to go to the game and it being my first ever NHL game, but didn't cause I couldn't scrunch up enough cash makes me so mad. I would have loved to be there while it happened. I enjoyed it immensely as is on TV, but dang, what a missed opportunity there. I'm gonna try and make it for game 5.

I started my playoff beard when the Olympics ended because I decided it was pretty much playoff time at that point. So far, so good. It stays til the Wings are done. GO WINGS GO!
I did this too mostly be cause I was lazy towards the end of the olympic break, and decided what the heck, I'll start early this year. Has worked like a charm.

As a mexican, I'm rooting for Russia. My fav players have always been russian so I've rooted for them since I got into hockey.

yeah I remember watching an interview or something like that and him being asked where would he be if he wasn't a hockey pro. he answered he'd be a professional soccer player.

A lot of the players on my team liked soccer more than hockey, but that's something you'd expect being in mexico.
