yeah!!! GOAL!!! turco really suck is it me or is it just a dead ambiance there? we could hear a snell breathing

Dude! don't be so rough with Stamkos, Lecavalier had almost the same first season as him. The guy is.... just 19

me think: OVERPAYMENT if the case of filpulla can be discussed as many here have done, to pay 4 milions now for Staal is in my opinion way too high. Next FA period will be definitively interesting cuz most of the teams will face salary cap problems. And if some big FA will may be receive the big bucks i have no doubts that some of them will be highly disappointed. Something really interesting would be to list all the team who ll face cap's problem and who s not.

Roberts didn t impress me during last year playoff run not like Helm... I would definitively rather have Helm in the lineup if he can bring to the table the same as last year.

My message will be build in 2 parts First, I have to say I'm really disappointed this season thus far by the play of Kronwall (which had one again terrific night yesterday) and Stuart. I'm beginnng to be worried that Kronwall will never turn as a top 2 D, as everyone of us expect it when Lids will retire. In my opinion he definitively had more night "out" yet ,than nights when he was really good. I' ve seen in many topics that some guys here pointed out the play of rafalski, or even at the beginning of the season, Lidstrom's play. Sorry but Kronwall's and Stuart's play have been much worst! Particulary I think they haven t played up to ther salaries. Do you agree with me? opinions? Second I' ve seen previously a lot of threads suggesting a rafalski trade, which obviously won't happen. I do think that the guy which is the more likely to go is Stuart if he goes on to play like that. His play isn't worth his salary and i think he ll be redundant at the end of the year with the big Ericsson waiting in the system, and Lilja which is now a bargain with his level of play. Furthermore I've read that Stuart will have a NTC for the last 2 years of his contract. I think Holland, when he gave Stuart's contract (even Hossa hadn't signed yet), figured it out that it will be a difficult year to sign them all and could possibly trade Stuart after the year if he's not living up to the expectations. Detroit has very few trade material and I think Holland would be wise to trade him before his NTC occur. I would prefer to give the 2 millions difference between the salary of Stuart and Ericcson to keep Jiri Hudler in the system. Any thoughts? Sorry for the mistakes, english is not my mothertongue..

I did and i really thought at first glance it happened like i said (hit on skates and not puck touched+ poor puck control), but i didn t watched the intermission so may be i havent seen the replay who could change my opinion about it. Anyway I also saw that Kronner was bad all 2nd, wanna argue against that?

C'mon we are talking about next year, and Cheli is clearly out of the question for it since he is already the element that don t allow us to bring up a guy like Leino, Downey or Helm whenever we want. For now we can easily say that to have him as a assistant coach or training partner would have been a better choice than give him 800'000$ ... I totally agree that Stuart's play has been more solid for now than kronwall' s but i also think he would be the more easy to move without shaking up too much the locker room (Kronwall is here for longer and is swedish), and he is more redundant than Kronwall with Ericsson in the system.. Like some said it before i would be all for a shakeup right now in the D pairing to try to push Kronwall.. About yesterday goal, it was clearly Kronwall's fault: the guy didn t robbed him the puck with his stick but hit his skates with his stick which ended to make Kronwall loose his balance and his puck control..

Well that's true that during playoff they have performed very well, BUT not really against the nashville serie, and for Stuart, not really before playoff time. We could all be biaised because we keep in mind this image of Stuart and Kronner performing during the playoff while all the team was clicking and there was a great dynamic around the team. My guess it could be totally different this year. For me they haven't proven yet they can play again at this level who could has been the play of their life (unlike Dats, Nick, Hudler, Sammy, Zatta) You hit the jugular with your second post. What bring Stuart is experience, but honestly we have too much $$ tied in defence right now and for the future. In the cap world you need to bring young guys up with low salary quite often and you re unable to keep all your proven elements, that s it. The price between a Stuart and a Ericsson could be a Hudler like i stated before.
-
c'mon! no one has an opinion about Kronwall's or Stuart's level of play? Don't you think like me that Stuart could be gone after the playoff? (something that haven t been discussed a lot here)
-
Without his play, I really think we would have lost this one
-
and people what do you think about the russian 5? i m not trying to say it could match the previous line, but just want to hear your opinion about it.
-
There is a good chance he go trough! at least i hope! this move make me think about the guy (don t want to say a specific name but you should know who was it) who said all summer long, in every way possible, and in just every thread that it would automaticallly be Lilja, which would be moved.... every others opinions were wrong... well not so wrong
-
everything is in the title. For me our "second" line, because i really believe Franzen capable of doing big things, especially besides Z.
-
Yes, but for me Hossa should be rather compared between these two lines to Hudler because what Franzen will bring to the table is closer to the play of Homer than Hossa's play. It s really possible that this season Franzen will bring more than Homer (+he is not getting younger) when Hudler next to Z could be very surprising

1. Who are some players that will hit 50 goals this season? Ovechkin, Hossa, Malkin, Lecavalier 2. Who are some players that will hit 100 points this season? Crosby, Ovechkin, Zetterberg, Iginla, Thornton, Datsuyk, Malkin 3. The rookie of the year will be...? Stamkos of course 4. What will be the cup finals matchup? Detroit vs Pitt do it again baby 5. Will Martin Havlat finally stay healthy for good portion of the season? Nope, he gets around 55 games 6. Who (other than Lidstrom) has the best chance of winning Norris? Phanoeuf of course 7. Crosby or Ovechkin... Who will outnumber the other in total points? Ovie 8. Datsyuk or Zetterberg... Who will outnumber the other in total points? Datsyuk 9. Zetterberg or Hossa... Who will outnumber the other in goals scored? Hossa 10. Can the Columbus Blue Jackets make their playoff debut? No chance at all

it's ok

i do believe that cheli's injury was a political reason to sit him. +Lilja played well in this post season
-
do you really think you could developp something that hasn t been developped yet about the lines combo in this thread?
-
I agree + It would be wrong to consider sammy's as a lost. For me it would be benefit coz like i ve already stated, he is redundant in our roster and we won't probably able to afford the salary rise he will ask for at the end of the season. So let s take a 2nd round pick for him!
-
i love doggy style
-
WRONG! if mc is down and meech also +quicey transferred everything is ok (it s not necessary that they will bring in 23 players isn t it?)... SO THAT MEANS LILJA WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY BE TRADED. anyway.. i know it s summer time but how many times have you stated this opinion in different topic? becomes boring. We all don t know if Lilja will be traded or not and that s a fact! You can repeat it as many times as you want we will discuss about that in september
-
the problem right now is not only defence logjam but ALSO cap space. by freeing cap space you have the opportunity to keep Lilja, which we almost don t have now, like eva has stated, for trading guys like lebda, meech or quicey who have a smaller salary
-
my first sentence:
-
For me, Sammy is a MUST TRADE, and if that will not resolve the defense logjam, it will free up some cap space, what is an important part of the equation Here is why sammy is a MUST TRADE 1/we can loose him that our roster won t be affected, we have enough quality player to replace him 2/his trade value will never be higher (small salary, just won a cup) 3/the trade can solve our problem of cap space 4/his contract will end up at the end of the year, and he will for sure ask for more (what we can t afford) or leave. Or we need cap space to potentially try to re-sign Franzen and Hossa regarding of these points, to keep Sammy when we ll have players like Helm or Leino (need confirmation) down, would be nothing else than sentimental.
