Wings got owned up the ass without nutty oils. Damn. 1st in the NHL? worth the raping.

What does it say about the wings when they played like crap all season
Zetterling replied to Phazon's topic in General
Their offense is good. The defense isn't playing on all cylinders. -
Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Franzen Hossa-Cleary-Holmstrom Hudler-Filpulla-Samuelsson Draper-Leino-Kopecky Lidstrom-Rafalski Kronwall-Stuart Lilja-Ericsson Lebda/Chelios Osgood gets the start of the first game and everyone prays.

They don't play as many tough teams as the Wings do down the stretch. Their last three games are with teams that won't make the playoffs. The Wings have not been dominating enough to convince me they can pull off two additional wins over the Sharks.

GM's want to give 10 minute misconduct penalty for fighting
Zetterling replied to Frozen-Man's topic in General
hahaha Yeah, sometimes you gotta fight. Concussions eff you up though. So I don't have an opinion. -
Whoa, this would work out great. Oh that's right. Leafs sounds better.
-
That is correct sir. Foiled by spell check.
-
Haha, how about Kansas City, Buffaloes Wind Harvesters Windhawks Hogs Windmills Stampeders Wolfs

What if you had a half and half two week break. Half the teams get the first two weeks off and the other half of the teams get the second part of a month, 2 weeks, off. I would have hockey withdrawals!

"I no has clutch OT skills."

I think the Oilers are a better matchup than the Predators. The Wings can beat the Oilers without too much difficulty. San Jose will have a tough time with Nashville, those guys are hungry to win a playoff series. However, the Wings could end up playing Calgary in the second round, that series would have the intensity of a WCF series.

http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...eck_and_ba.html Lilja's concussion sounds pretty bad. This could be not good come playoff time. He played really good this season and he's a solid #5 or #6 defenseman with lots of playoff experience. Will Ericsson or Meech be able to fill in for this guy? In my opinion, Meech sucks pretty bad and Ericsson is an unknown with little playoff experience. Lebda sucks often too. Who will be the starting #5 and #6 defense men in the first round? Perhaps Chelios will have to speed it up! Lidstrom-Rafalski Kronwall-Stuart Chelios/Lebda-Ericsson? (Meech/dumbfounded Lilja)
-
I think it was the 2007 game 5 WCF OT giveaway that made people pissed. He has a lot more playoff experience now though.
-
I agree the defeatist attitude from a loss after we've seen this team beat the Sharks 6-0 doesn't do any good. Babcock was pairing the D differently and the first two goals were epic tip ins. Ozzy wasn't getting help from the D. The offense was shut down also. Just hoping the team can get first in the conference to avoid playing Calgary potentially in the second round. That team gets dirty in the playoffs!

I feel that way about football. "Lets play 16 games in a season and make everything based on pre-set plays. Lets run most of the clock off when nothing is even happening and get millions of people to watch pretending that field goals and running the clock doesn't determine most games." Gotta be Rupert Murdoch's fault.
-
SHIZZLE!! Wtf is this? San Jose is going to steam a roll into first place.
-
It's bizarro NHL again!
-
Whoa, Cherry just said he forgot his purse.
-
That was Lids and Stuart out there for the second goal. That sucks.
-
Yeah, he should be better by the playoffs though concussions can mess you up. Lilja has been playing pretty good this year. Pain Train and Big Hut for the 3rd pairing would be good. Update: Lilja has persistent headaches Defenseman Andreas Lilja is experiencing constant headaches because of the concussion he sustained after being punched by Nashville's Shea Weber last Saturday. "When the headaches are over, then I can probably start playing,'' Lilja said. "I've had concussions before, but never had these symptoms afterward. Usually, you wait 10 days and you're good to go. Never had headaches all the time. It's just weird.'' http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...sa_remains.html

Ha! this is true. Ericsson's size will come in handy for breakaways that seem to foil Lebda and Meech.
-
Amazing! Did he say anything about the trade deadline?

Phoenix Coyotes -- Worst organization in sports
Zetterling replied to RedLightGoesOn's topic in General
I think the team should move to a big city in Mexico. How bad ass would that be? I don't care if they sucked really bad or not! -
Look how Edmonton, the 8th seed, went to game 7 of the Stanley cup finals in 2006 and Calgary, a lower seed went to the finals the year before. One year the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th seeds all won in the first round. This was all in the current point system. I think that throws out any concept of kiddy points and bonuses. I guess heightening the stakes for a regulation loss would be interesting. But being in a bad division wouldn't allow an accurate depiction of things. Look at how bad the central division used to be. If you wanted to up the stakes, take away a point for a regulation loss. That would get you jacked up. Regulation loss = -1 point Overtime loss = 1 point Overtime/SO/regulation win = 2 points This would be disastrous in the current NHL though. The season is too long for this. Teams would be out of the playoff hunt earlier and have a bunch of meaningless games to play. Competition would decrease and the great teams would get bored. Teams like Nashville and Columbus have shorter learning curves with the current system and are competing at higher levels with the current system.
