Perhaps the Sharks are experiencing the "Red Wing effect." I looked at the teams they have played and they haven't played many difficult teams. Teams like Dallas, the Ducks and the Kings are like the Wings easy central division foes of the past. The Shark's style of hockey has also changed a lot from their past years, so teams that play them for the first time are surprised. Also, the Sharks have only had one 3 game road trip so far. Nevertheless the team looks really motivated. The come from behind win against the blues after being down 3-1 was impressive.

This Thursday, 4:30. The Joe. They really are scary. They are pretty much unbeatable. The Wings can't beat these guys without good goaltending.

Pittsburgh and Montreal were stupid games. Against Montreal, the Wings were tired and didn't have a day off after a long flight. The Pittsburgh game was retarded. 7 - 6 and an OT penalty? It was good for ratings. Might as well call it a win. ESPN 2? They need to be ready for San Jose. I think that team could steam roll the Wings right now.
